Maya's hatred made sense, given how she couldn't control it, it made her a murderer, killed most of her family and forced her to go on the run. And didn't Niki had her MPD, not the enhanced strength?
Claire makes no sense, though. She hasn't even fully realised the only real negative issue with regen! All I can really see for her to complain about is the exposure risk, and she makes that worse with all her carelessness, not to mention jumping off ferris wheels.
