Peter, cause being beside Arthur would have meant Peter would have had all of Arthurs abilities.

He wouldn't know he did, though.

He would know which abilities he had each time Arthur used one, and with IA he would be able to control it a lot faster.

Yeah. Maybe IA would just kick in and make him curious as to how Power Absorption works.

And maybe he'd FINALLY realise he should have MM too

And Matt, Rene doesn't have it on 24/7. It'd make sense that it was absorbable when he isn't blocking.

but Peter wasn't around him 24/7, yeah he might not have it on all the time but he would have it on when he met Peter and even if you can use an ability around him, you can't actually use the ability on him

Peter could use telekinesis, invisibility and flight the first time he was near Rene. It'd make sense that Rene hadn't blocked him at all.

What evidence is there of that?

when Matt was in the bar, he could read the thoughts of everyone, but not Rene's, so Matt could use his power around him but not on him

Alternate explanation: he could sense Matt trying to read his mind and started blocking him then. Or that was due to the drugs starting to work. Or it's unique to telepathy/mental based powers.

Also, Peter has managed to replicate MM from him, using AR. Why would it be different?
