Re: The Wedding Of River Song
We're confusing..... It's Mami for kids, and then Mam, but then people in Pembrokeshire and Cardigan sure say Mam for Gran

Re: The Wedding Of River Song
I've got a Mamgu (normal most-of-Wales term), a Mamgu Janet and a Nana, because when my oldest cousin was born, our great-gran was still alive and she got called Mam

Re: The Wedding Of River Song
I suppose to call all my aunts and uncle's by the punjabi term (like massi, for mum's sister (aunt)) Basically there are different names for your family. So you call your dad's brother one name and your mum's brother another. Really confusing. But i call them all by their name

Luckily, that tradition got dropped in my family a few generations ago. Makes the family tree really confusing though, at least for me.

Re: The Wedding Of River Song
It gets worse when they then start using their middle names instead (yes, Mam's family, I'm talking about you...)
