Yeah, that's the plot reason, but I mean the actual 'real-world decision' Obviously I'm biased, but Adam was awesome, and they used him to make Arthur look so powerful ('Oh, I can kill the big bad of the last series, aren't I evil') only for Arthur to basically do nothing really significant: sure, he took Peter's power, caused a bit of trouble, but his real plan never really got started, whereas Adam was seconds from success (and in the alternate ending, apparently does succeed ).

They should have just used someone else... A random Regen. Or Claire. Anything to keep Adam-- his return was an anti-climax

By the way, that is real bad advice in your Avatar (if taken literally )

Did he actually say he healed? I can't remember, but if he did it blows my theory away If Hiro just ASSUMED Sylar healed (i.e., 'He must have healed to survive being run through with a sword!') it's still possible he didn't have, and something/one else intervened. I may have to rewatch that episode later
