Does potent just means strong or does it mean power/powerful because some sites have said it means strong and powerful, but can it also mean power as in ability?

I tihnk it means powerful, but I don't think it means power, like in abilities.

Why? I don't think I have a clue, unless someone uses an online Latin dictionary All ability-naming sites seem to call Ability Manipulation just that, without giving it a Latin name. And there's no science to abilities, which is the only other source I have. Does anyone happen to have a Latin dictionary at hand?

Potestas - Ability, Power in latin

Don't know if that'd mean a supernatural ability or just "the ability to do something", but it's the best we have
