Wasn't it stated in-canon that the effect the ability has depends upon Emma's emotions? For example, she needed to focus on hope and on drawing people in to use her sirenic effect. But if that's true, how was it working in BNW? She was terrified, really, and being forced to play against her will. Her real emotions should have been driving everyone away, or just wrecking the place and causing damage. Just playing, physically, shouldn't have been enough, should it?

You're right. I till think its stupid that Doyle could do that but i guess he manipulates powers in a way too, like when controlling Meredith she couldn't create any fire.

I thought that was only because Meredith needed to turn her hand to create the fire, she needed the physical action Puppetry shouldn't really have worked on an emotion-based ability. Unless maybe she was being threatened so she forced herself to really draw people in?

I've said that Haley can change people's thoughts, emotions, behaviour and opinions - vague description until I RP with her and make her actually use it I'm just remembering how we were theorising before that Emma might be able to kill masses if she was sufficiently scared, angry and hurt.
