New Timeline RP Thread

Tamsin walked at a leisurely pace around the park, chowing down on the chow mein she'd gotten from a nearby takeaway. She listened to bird sing for a moment before finding a bench. It was nice to get some fresh air to clear her head. Recently, she'd just lost a contract for an album. Well, a chance at an album. It had been the first sign that something odd was happening because of the way the man she'd been talking to behaved. They'd been having a pretty heated argument over contract details and he'd blurted out exactly what he thought and some rather embarrassing confessions. He looked just as shocked as she'd been to hear him say what he'd said. Ever since then, people had been behaving oddly around her too. A few friends had begun avoiding her. She wasn't quite sure what was happening or if it was her fault or not.

Tamsin found herself lunged to the side and saw a football bounce off in front of her. Judging by the angle, it seemed to have come from just where she'd been before she'd moved. Realising the lunge had tipped her remaining food on the floor, she cursed and sat upright, waiting for the adrenalin to fade away. It had been a lucky lunge to avoid getting hit in the back of the head but she had no idea why she'd moved over in the first place. She'd been zoned out and not concentrating but she felt she'd had some flash of an image of a football a split second before she found she'd moved.

The football's owner came to retrieve it, apologising. Or she'd expected him to be at first.

"I'm not sorry. I was aiming for your head." he said, becoming suddenly alarmed. His eyes widened and he clutched the ball closer to him. "That wasn't what I meant to say..."

He shuffled off as quickly as he could. Tamsin stared after him, one slender eyebrow raised.

( Nice. Are you keeping her other abilities pre-manifested and manifesting this final one again?)

(Something like that. They'll be manifesting sooner or later. I can just play her by herself until there's an opportunity for interaction. )

(Oh, ok. Elan's kind of stuck having reappeared in her home with Danny, but my other characters could be free?)

Tamsin stood up after watching the man go. She needed to find out what was going on but she had no idea how. Perhaps this was some elaborate prank? If it was, who would do this? Wo would have the money to pay people to behave like this and for so long? It had been going on for a few weeks now.

She put the chow mein packaging in the bin and looked around, wondering if someone was watching her or filming her. Feeling irked, she looked around for the footballer. She spotted him talking with a couple of his mates.

"Oi!" She began striding quickly over to him, determined to get to the bottom of this. The poor man looked rightly alarmed.

(Where are your other characters?)

(Elan's stuck in Washington DC in her apartment with Danny, Rhi and Ollie. Dann's in NY I think. Lily and David are in NY too. Lola and Mark and their family are in LA. James and Eve/Keira are in Hartsdale spying on Primatech)

(Would you prefer her to interact with the NY bunch or the LA bunch?)

"What's going on? Why are you acting so weird around me? Who put you up to this?" Tamsin demanded, rapidly closing the gap between them. The man's friends weren't sure whether to be amused or not. They didn't believe what he'd just been telling them.

"I can't help it. I can't lie near you. No one put me up to this." the footballer said, alarmed again. He turned to his friends. "I don't know what's going on. Don't you believe me?"

"Pfft I believe you're a tease with a hot bum." said one friend, his face rapidly draining of colour. The two other men stared at him. There was a moment of silence.

"What? I thought you were into me?" said the last of the three to speak. He also looked shocked at his own words. There was another moment of silence.

"You know what? Whatever." Tamsin announced, walking off to let them deal with their issues alone.

(Hmm. Which is better for music contracts? Since that's what she wants, that's were she'd go.)

(I've no idea NY maybe?)

(I'll go with NY. Next up: plotting a way for our characters to meet)

(Which ones? If it was James and Eve, maybe a Primatech mission could connect them. Or does the Company not know of her existence?)

(If we assume the Company have their fingers in a lot of pies looking for EHs, they could have detected her as an EH from when she donated blood recently. They could be testing samples as a way to reach more of the population. )

(Good one. That's how Sylar's government found Eve in the old timeline too)

After they'd dealt with the Chasers along with the others of their old Resistance cell, James and Eve returned to their work spying on Primatech. They'd only been back for a few hours when they were given a new mission. They were handed a file about a newly manifested young woman. She was a singer, currently located in Detroit but now travelling to New York.

What's wrong? she asked in a whisper, concern in her voice, as she pretended to take his order. That was their normal act here. She suspected her colleagues knew of it. What's happened?

Suddenly, an idea struck her.

Was it... were there more of them? We didn't get them all?

Mark shook his head.

No, not that. This is something different. A message from James and Eve.

What's the message? she asked, relaxing. That relaxation vanished at Mark's answer.

Their cover's blown.

What?!! she gasped. Their... their Primatech cover? Can't something be done? Hide them.... or maybe Eve can persuade people there to forget it...

Mark shook his head.

They have another idea.
