    Hello again everyone!

    Post by A Returning Charlotte on Mon 30 Dec 2013 - 23:03

    Well hello there!

I've been away so long you probably forgot I existed but I didn't forget you. It must have been 2 or 3 years now. Maybe it's coming up to 4? I've lost track. I'm glad this site or my browser can remember my password because I can't.

The reason I left at first because I was getting behind with schoolwork which I originally thought was because I spent too much time on here. I planned to leave just for a bit until I got things sorted and then I'd return. I then discovered I wasn't behind because of this site but because I had depession and my whole life had been falling apart really but I hadn't realised it at the time because I was in denial. Depression is a b****, by the way.

When I was eventually diagnosed I dropped out of sixth form and went on medication to recover. It took many months but I recovered enough to stop needing Prozac. I decided not to have another go at sixth form but instead go on a Level 3 course at college. That lasted two years and I've now completed that and started university. Whoo!

I'd always been intending to return at some point but I though everywhere was dead by now so I didn't look until just recently when I realised I was still getting email updates about your wiki sent to my spam. "Jimminy Cricket!" I thought. "It's alive!"

So here I am. How about you? How have you been? You'll have to re-introduce yourselves (my memory isn't so good; I'm planning on training it up) and introduce the new members too.

I've missed you! Oh crikey that's a lot of emoticons over there...

P.S. Also you can also delete my brother's account (TrekkieBoy) because he won't be coming back and neither of us like leaving dead accounts around. That's why I'm asking for my accounts to be deleted on the dead sister sites.

I don't wan't deleting here though. Very Happy

C! glomp Welcome back!!! This is Lowri reintroducing herself. Rajan (Superheroesfanatic-IR) is here too, and Pippy still has her account but hasn't been on for ages (exams, I think). We've one new member, Neo, but he hasn't been here for ages either.

We have loads of members who never post, or who have dropped off. We had loads even when you were here before. We just never bother deleting ones.

I see. I see. Makes it look like there are more people here than just you so new members won't think the place is dead and not bother to join. Crafty.

Well. How have you been? What's been going on for you?

I think Rajan just wants to believe the place is popular so he won't delete unused ones Laughing Or he used to, anyway. I remember him saying he wanted it to become the most popular forum ever.

I've been ok shrug Dropped out of my old course in Cardiff years ago, it wasn't working for me. I started studying accountancy courses. I'm on my second year for the ACCA qualification now.

Crikey things would be crazy if it was the most popular forum ever. I'd get run over in the onslaught of posts, probably.

Sorry things didn't work out. It seems you're onto something good now though. Don't accountants get masses of money? Sweet move.  thumb

I've no idea how much accountants earn Laughing I can see more of a concrete career path though. Originally with the old course, I wanted to go into medicine post-graduate, but I changed my mind on that pretty quickly.

It'd be insane Laughing Think he just wanted vicarious popularity.

Yep, they do! Congratulations! They earn more than I will ever do but I'm doing what I do for love. Out of interest, what course were you doing before?

Vicarious! Oh that word reminds me of seeing posts on other sites and pictures of texts were people meant to put vicariously but but bicuriously instead. Get's me every time.

Biomedical Sciences - basically biology research which can be applied to medicine. It was a lot more molecular based that I'd anticipated, and also had more essay work - I learned that I hate essays Razz

What are you doing now, then? I don't think you said more than being in a college and now uni.

    Laughing What a mistake Razz

Oooh. I sometimes have lectures with people on similar courses to that for one module. I'm not quite sure if there's anyone actually on that course in our lectures for that module though.

I did an L3 ED in Animal Management, on a pathway tailored around wildlife and conservation. Now I'm doing a degree in Wildlife Conservation and Ecology and I want a Masters after this but I don't know what in yet.

If any of my friends make that mistake I'll never let them live it down. >:3

Night! I'll make sure you have a lot to reply to in the new year. Razz HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hello Charlotte! I am Neo, nice meeting you. When I started I actually saw some of your posts lingering around the forum. Nice seeing that you have returned. Like Lowri said, I haven't been here for quite some time. Sadly I am one of those persons who dissapear and reappear a lot. I wish I wasn't, but Pippy, Lowri, Rajan and me have seen how that have turned out. Nice seeing you again too Lowri! Merry Christmas and a Happy new year to you all!!

Hello! :)I do hope my posts weren't weird. Ahah. ^.^; Oh I used to appear and disappear on sites too. On some I said I'd start roleplaying the next day but then I never did. I just avoid them now, out of guilt. I'm back here though. Things moved crazily fast in those days and may still do now. Does it? Nice to meet you and a happy new year to you too!

I love it! It's brilliant. I wish we were able to pick all the optional modules though. Mind you if we could I dunno if I could handle the workload. Angst. Still this course is definitely the right direction for me. There's no animal handling like my previous course but we still have a lot of practicals. I like living in the countryside too. I get to live there for the first two years and then my third year will be on our city campus. Atm we live and have most lectures and practicals on the countryside campus with only one day at the city campus but in the final year things will be the other way around. We had lots of study tours to choose from this year but there's been price hikes, destination changes and cancellations. I was originally going on the Costa Rica trip but that changed to a Mexico trip and then it got cancelled completely. Luckily for me unlike other people on my course, I'm going away for an expedition this summer so I'll still have something. I just need to fundraise.

That sounds crazy!! So many trips! Are they so you get to study different animals in those places? It sounds really expensive though, if you have to fundraise.

Laughing Wanting to take all the options. I get that. I'll need to choose my own next year or in the year after that. One'll definitely be the tax unit, but I'm not sure of the second.

There were others too. Amsterdam, Peru, Africa etc. I'm doing Africa next year. I'll start fundraising for that as soon as I've come back from Indonesia this summer. I also need to plan ahead for my trip to collect data for my dissertation which I need to take in my second summer. So many places to see! So little time. And money. Wanna help me fundraise?

I'm thinking of swapping notes with someone taking the other module so I get the knowledge but without having to do assessments. Tax? Sounds useful. I don't know anything about tax.

You sound like my sister Laughing She wants me to save up so that she has an excuse to go on holiday to Cuba. And Morroco. And Istanbul. I was saving up most of a year to replace my laptop!

Don't you get qualifications for doing the module officially though? Looking through notes wouldn't gain that.

Yeah, it's useful. It's weirdly become my favourite module.

Well I am a eighteen year old male named Joel and I actulaly live in Sweden on an small, isolated island called Gotland, believe it or not. I love Heroes and the other day when I got a Heroes-related question in a quiz game named "Trivial Pursuit", don't know if you know about it, then I started screaming enthustiastically. I love other tv-shows too. I wish I actually was more interrested in "real life" stuff, so that I would have a little more knowledge about stuff that I instead find boring, like politics and society-related questions. I am usually a very energetic person, though like everyone else I have my ups and downs. I like roleplaying of course, but I have a hard time sticking to things (like explained above). I too have said that I would start roleplaying and never done it, and just like you explained it, I never return due to guilt. My dad says it is because I am an Aries (my dad is an astrologist), but I don't know, maybe. I like to keep my belief for the unexplainable and such, very open, just in case. Wink I love Fantasy and some Science Fiction, anything supernatural (is by the way a good show) really. I like having crazy ideas, since I think acting weird and crazy is way more fun than to keep up a serious front. If there is anything more you want to know about me, just ask, and I will answer. Any question at all.
