IA when abilities can't be taken

Would IA activate in a case where abilities can't be taken, i.e. when the person has something like singularity or nonduality? Is it the actual copying of abilities it wants, or just understanding them and copying is a bonus?

I'm thinking of W3: Teagan's mother. I'm not sure if she'd be an NEH or an EH whose abilities Samson couldn't take. I don't want to give her something like regen because that'd spoil her death.

i dnt think something like singularity will allow ia to copy. i see it as the gaining of abilities to be a bonus but then again sylar was able to empathically take them so it may be a core part of the ability.

Yeah, I doubt it'd let the abilities be taken/copied. But would IA then still drive Sylar or Samson to attack someone if he knew that person had Singularity?

i think not. simply because i believe sylar knew that claire would regenerate when he took hers (i pressumed so anyway) as he didnt seem surprised at all. And the only reason he kills EHs is to get their ability so he should know if he was able to get them or not, unless its just looking at their brain which allows him to understand their ability too, (can't quite remember what he said when looking at claire's brain.) but i think he knew she may regenerate when he looked at her brain, so maybe he would kill someone with singularity and realise he couldnt get their ability until looking at their brain

I don't think he knew Claire would survive til he'd taken the ability and analysed it completely. He might have suspected though. And he had to attempt to take Candice's before he realised that the Shanti virus was blocking him.

ah, so i suppose he would still attempt to. I guess the hunger is still inside him and he would try to get the ability no matter what

unless he has lie detection and knew that she was lying or not.

In this scenario she wouldn't be lying though I'm just still trying to decide whether Megan Niall had abilities or not. If she did, Singularity would have been one of them.

I'll leave it She's dead, we'll only ever find out if I use time travelling and she happens to appear/if I think of a second ability for her and want to reveal it.
