she was in the army and was a test subject for the injection. she knew she was different, but never really knew how. her mum had an ability and killed herself as she didnt except it. (her mum was friends with angela) rachel managed to teleport but always was in denial of having the ability, she hated being special. she saw what the injection could do as she injected a friend with it, (cus they were the last injections and they were going to die) and she saw him turn evil.

Denial - pretending it isn't happening, not disliking it. Tracy didn't like hers either, for the same reason as Sylar and Niki.
