This is just a paragraph I wrote for the beginning of a story but I never actually wrote the story because the storyline was crap, but I always liked my opening. Please tell me what you think, and critisims are welcome
I lay on my back, gazing at the most glorious sight in the universe. The stars glitter down on me, shining as they have done for millions of years. They glisten like the heart of a God, they sparkle like a mothers eye. The stars radiate a beauty to which nothing else can compare, a beauty which is unique, a beauty which shines from their core for all else to see. They give everything of themselves for people they will never meet, for the enjoyment of sinners, for the pleasure of ones who ignore them. Yet they do. They do in the hope of those people will take a leap of faith and look up, and take notice of them, to acknowledge them for what they are, to appreciate them, to love them. They glow for the love of people they will never meet. So why then do they glow? They glow because the others glow; they try to shine the brightest. To shine brighter than any other in the vain hope that if they shine the brightest, they may be loved. Though why do they shine for those whom they will never meet? They shine because maybe, just maybe, they seek the love of others because they cannot find in among their own.
