Professor Charles Xavier decided to turn his family mansion into the Xavier School for Gifted Youngsters in which he would train mutants to use their powers to benefit mankind. Using his newly developed Cerebro system, he gathered students to form the x-men. The students are given school uniforms and special trained student became part of the x-men. The x-men are regulary sent into battle against Magneto and his Brotherhood of evil mutants.

The Brotherhood of Mutants was a group dedicated to the cause of mutant superiority over humans. Throughout its various incarnations, the Brotherhood's agenda gravitated towards either subjugating the human race to the will of mutants or eradicating humanity altogether. Magneto formed the original Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, iand regulary fight of the x-men. The Brotherhood do anything to protect mutants and fight for their rights. Ocassionly they do this by sending messages across to the public, often resolving in crimes.

The Friends of Humanity are an anti-mutant hate group. The organization is based on and very similar to real life white supremacy organizations and groups like the Neo-Nazis and the Ku Klux Klan. The Friends Of Humanity is a group started by Graydon Creed, a man infamous for his bigotry against mutants. He and his disciples have caused damage on many occasions, whenever there is a possibility to harm mutant rights, and they are agitating to force lawmakers to reinstate The Mutant Registration Act.
