Re: One Big Change
Laura
“What’s going on?” I yelled, to Matt and Elle, hurrying over to them. I didn’t have time to wonder why they were there. I eyed the other male here. A tall, dark haired man, slowly approaching the body, shouting a name. I couldn’t hear it over the wind, and the roar of flames.
“Not too sure...” replied Matt, slowly. He seemed surprised to see me, but Elle’s expression was a little more calm.
“You heard the voice, too?” she guessed.
I nodded, my voice tired of straining itself to be heard above the noise and confusion as the elements brought their terror.
“Why are we here?!” shouted Matt, loudly. No one had an answer.
All three of us turned to stare, as the man approached the body of the girl, lying in the middle of the clearing. I couldn’t be sure if she was even alive, to be honest.
Chris
I stretched down, as my fingers brushed Hayley’s hair, and I saw her chest still rising up and down – at irregular intervals, sure, but that was better than nothing. I felt the gush of wind, and had enough time to look up, before the air threw me backwards, and I slammed into a tree.
I wrestled with it, before it released me, and I slumped to the floor. It was fighting me... Either the air didn’t want to me touch her, or she didn’t. I jumped to my feet again, and prepared to near her again, before I heard it.
No! roared the tone. Leave her.
I stopped, dead in my tracks, and turned back, to the other three.
“You guys heard that, right?” guessed Matt.
“It was talking to you,” stated the brunette girl. She pointed at me. “It said to leave her.”
“I know it did,” I sighed. I should leave her, I thought. But what had she asked me? ‘Do you do everything your told?’
“But you’re not going to listen,” sighed the blonde girl... Elle.
“You don’t know anything about this,” I replied, stiffly, edging closer to Hayley, again, focusing on my stepping, careful not to fall.
“I know more than you think,” shouted the brunette.
“You guys do some more talking,” I told them. “And I’ll do the work.”
NO! shouted the voice. This time, it sounded angry. STOP!
“Now you’ve pissed it off,” commented Elle. I sighed.
She was really annoying me, and I heard the whistle of the wind, again, flying towards me. I had time to look at it, before it caught me again. This time, it was softer, and simply flew me over to the three children.
Elle
“Laura,” I guessed, the second he landed back on his feet.
“What?” he asked, sharply, turning towards me.
Matt – still holding my hand – tugged it, catching my attention.
“Yeah?” I asked. He pointed with his other hand, to where Laura was floating. The air caught her hair, as it flowed around her, playing at the ends of her t-shirt.
“What th-!” began the Guardian, but she shushed him.
We all waited, in silence, and even though I couldn’t read minds, I guessed what she was doing. The ground we were standing on was still, and flat, uncracked and normal, and I guessed that was Matt’s handiwork. All around us, holes were appearing in the ground, and the water was spraying at us.
“What do we do?” asked Laura, her voice deep, but still sounding feminine. Her pale features and long legs looked even longer and paler in the air. I had never seen her fly before.
She wasn’t talking to us. She wasn’t talking to any of us. She was talking to it. She was talking to the voice.
Form a circle, came the slow reply, after a few long seconds. Drifting back to the ground, Laura nodded. She appeared to be taking control.
“You heard it,” she shouted. “A circle!”
Laura
I didn’t know how I knew what to do, but I did. I was taking control... and I wasn’t sure why! I didn’t know what to do... but I did.
All three of them nodded. It was, at least, something to do, other than fight amongst ourselves. We all took places, more of a square, than a circle, but I shook my head, suddenly.
“No.” A plain simple word, and amongst all the noise, it was still easy to hear. I didn’t know how, but I knew I was in the right place. They weren’t.
“Guardian, go to where Elle is standing.” He nodded, obediently, and moved to stand on my right – the west.
“Matt, swap places with Elle,” I commanded, again, amazed, as they both nodded like Chris, and soundless walked over to where I had told them to stand. Matt was now standing on my left – the east – and Elle was opposite me – the south.
Link arms, ordered the voice.
I shushed Elle, knowing she was about to make a comment – it was so her. She shut up, immediately, stretching out, to take Matt’s hand again, and then to her left, to take the Guardian’s. He took her hand, as I took his, and Matt’s.
We were a perfect circle, but I heard no more sounds, no more comments. There was nothing. The voice didn’t seem to say anymore.
“Can you guys here anything?” asked Matt. We all soundless shook our heads.
“Voice!” yelled Elle, impatiently. “What do we do now?!”

Are they meant to stop it? Or are they unknowingly amplifying it?

Thank you. If I was the voice, it would have been "Control your elements, douches!"
I'm not sure, Lowri. What do you think?

Re: One Big Change
i thought she was fire and if they all control their elements and Chris doesn't have one that means you've still got an element destroying everything
