I only felt safe to speak when I saw Peter relaxing, moving away a little.

Did it work? I asked anxiously, feeling my heart hammering in my chest in anticipation.

Yeah, it worked, Peter smiled. I sighed in relief that our little girl was safe again, and threw my arms around him.
