Future RP world ideas

Really like the start of it How about something like:

They are armed. They are ready for any mission. They are Spies. Join these evolved humans now in fighting for a safer, crime-free world.

Awesome! Simple and clean.

Most of them seem to be pretty short and sweet I'll edit it in later

Would the people they're up against have abilities too? I think that could make it more interesting, at least occasionally. Maybe in a little while we could make them face a huge organised group with abilities.

That was the idea I had in mind, yes.

Make it develop slowly, like the revelation of Fulcrum in Chuck?

A world full of magic and the eternal unknown, was split into (eight?) kingdoms after a great war that destroyed the peace in the world. These kingdoms are ruled by different kings and queens who have their own personal views and ways of ruling. Another great war is soon upon them all as the relationships of these kingdoms is becoming even more strained than before. Because of the power and secret, or non-secret, weapons that the kingdoms have in store, who can tell what the consequences will be. The final question is, can the world really survive another great war or will the neverending powerplays and the severe battles result in the "Dawn of Destruction", the end of the world that is mentioned in several prophecies throughout the kingdoms...?

Any comments on the above idea? I know that we don't need any new worlds or replacements but I just got inspiration to this idea. Soo...?

I'm not quite sure how well it'd work. We might get fed up of just fighting all the time.

It is more like powerplays and war politics than actual fighting, but I see your point.

The world is a dangerous place. As much as humanity would
like to believe itself safe and in control of the world, the facts
argue otherwise. On a daily basis, the news is filled with evidence
of these dangers. Natural disasters, catastrophic events and acts of war, crime and terrorism is examples of those dangers. But that is only the dangers that the media reports and the population absorbs. Behind the scenes, where nothing or no one censurs the truth, lies an entire world of other dangers. Dangers so dark and terrifying that they threatens our race entire existence. Humanity refuses to truly acknowledge their presence. The truth will never be reported and the humanity will continue to disbelieve their existence.

And the truth is: Monsters exists. Some are human, some once were. Many faces. Many horror. All the supernatural creatures from legends and nightmares: vampires, lychantropes, ghosts, witches, demons and more, exists at the outline of humanity. They live in the darkest of forests, in that abondonded house that no one walks into anymore or even in plain sights like in the very same mall we buy our groceries in or the same school or workplace our family goes to every day.

Some of these monsters see human population as nothing more than toys, tools or food. Others try to live alongside humankind in peace, event rying to fit in in our world. Unfortunately for humans, regardless how harmless the intent of one of these supernatural creatures might be, their very presence still presents a danger to those around them. They can have abilities, knowledge or enemies that are potentially deadly for those who unknowingly could become caught in the crossfire, facing powers that shouldn't even exists in the first place.

Unfortunately, not believing in these monsters doesn't make these creatures less dangerous. Instead, it creates a space, a safe zone in which they can exist and multiply and continue to threaten human kind. While we live our lives and worry about thins like school or work, politics, money and love, these creatures, these unseen threats, continue to endanger us, as they have for centuries, protected by their victims, self-imposed blindness to the peril they face.

But in the darkness, exists light. A miniority of mankind that saw the truth, that encountered one or more of these creatures. Every first encounter is different. It can be a police offices who sees a patten amidst several crimes where a person can enter locked rooms without a key, dissapear into thin air and kill with a single touch. First he rationalizes, he tries to think logical, but that patterns break all laws of logic. It can be a priest who finds himself listening to the slurred tale of a woman who claims to have "stolen" the life of another. It can't be true, but later on he finds her burying a body that looks identical to hers. Or it could be a woman with a violent child who gets confronted by men in ragged clothing. They say that her child is "like them" and that "they" are his family now before stealing the boy.

Whatever the first encounter is, some of these encounters "awakens" the victim. Some of these awakenings results in granting persons special abilities to help them rise to the challenge, while others don't. But one thing is common for all the "awakened". They rise to the challenge and become Hunters.

The Hunters may be driven to destroy the source of their hatred, the creatures that live amongst them, or to protect the ones they love. They may be driven by bravery, curiousity, greed, lust, hope or anger. They seek, in one way or another, to turn the tables on the monsters of the world. Armed with weapons or abilities. Wits or bravery, they make the choice to open their eyes. To enter the darkness with the little light they bring with them. They choose to learn, to seek, to explore and to hunt. They choose to become Hunters.

Oh my god. This was way longer than I expected and not really a world description more than a prolouge for a book or something. Well, well.

Sounds cool Kinda like a mix of Supernatural and Grimm. And it does sound like the blurb of a book Or one of those introductory paragraphs to programmes they have on cucirca.

But it is good? Though I know it will be hard to play this world because we have so many allready, but I just got inspired.

I really like the idea personally, and already have ideas for it. We need to see what the rest think first, though.

what are the hunters, the awakened?

Yeah, the hunters are those who "awakened" when they encountered these supernatural creatures. And some of those who awakened got abilities while others didn't, but all became hunters and hunts supernatural creatures.

I'd say Awakening or Awakened would be a good world name

You like it, Rajan? And some of them could get supernatural powers too. Like if they'd been destined to be hunters, or they'd been in some way partially infected by a creature, or something.

so what are the Awakened? (i like that name for them "Awakened") are they humans who got attack and wake up with powers to kill them?

Just the people who hunt them, in general. Some have powers, some just use normal skills, wits and commitment. It depends on the individual character and the RPer (Awakened just refers to the fact that they're aware of the monsters when other people aren't)

Are we really considering this world, then? Which would we replace? I know W5 is the one which is currently at a standstill - everyone seems to be stuck for SLs there - but personally I'd replace W6, or extend it. I've felt for a while that "family with powers" is too open an idea.

I would too replace W6, but I am currently not active in most worlds, so...
