In a way, she's just unlucky. Other characters use their abilities as publically, or more, and don't get noticed. Like, no one ever notices when Hiro teleports. And no one ever looks up when Nathan or Pete are flying.

Yeah, when Claude regains visibility, no one noticed a person appearing from nowhere. And no one seems to notice computers etc. being weird when Micah's around.
Really, public displays of powers are ignored, unless it's a plot device to have them seen.

Bit reckless though, but she did have her entire family there, so I guess she'd have assumed they could deal with it if Doug reacted too badly.
