Kaito and catalyst.

i was watching heroes, and something does make sense. the company made the formula and had to split it up in two pieces. kaito had one and on the dvd that hiro was watching he said that you must guard the secret like kaito did and his father before him (kaito's dad.) does that mean that the formula was made before the company or the catalyst was a source of power and it was kaito's father's power?

Zimmerman said that it was the Company, with him, who created it, though. But maybe the catalyst had been in the family for generations. It'd explain why Ishi wanted to pass it on to Hiro and keep it in the family

Or it could have been in the family for longer than that. Kaito also mentioned something about their heritage in HTSAEM when Hiro left him, "the wind at the back of history"
