Early the next morning, the doorbell rang, and Daphne could guess who'd be there before she opened it.

You've heard? she laughed at the massive grin on Dani's face.

Nah, I sensed it! she beamed. Congratulations!!

Daphne just laughed and grinned, inviting her in.

Haven't made any plans yet, she explained. But I've a few ideas...

Paris? her daughter guessed shrewdly. They both shared the same obsession with that city. Daphne laughed.

Probably Paris, she nodded.

It'll be perfect, Dani smiled. Who else knows?

Only people like you, who'd just know, so far, Daphne laughed. Haven't exactly gotten around to making announcements, yet....

(I think it was the last sentence, have you used it before? Maybe when Elodie disappeared? It gave me a feeling of deja vu )

There wasn't even a big gap this time. It was getting worse, whatever the hell it was that was happening. Elodie and Carter had both been taken at night, when they were alone. But now.. I barely left the room for five seconds and James was gone. Puff. Just.. gone. Once again, I searched frantically, but it didn't work.. nothing worked, how could it work?! I felt the pain long before the tears arrived and I saw Braedon watching me from the floor curiously

Do you know where they are? I begged Braedon, the only one left, still clinging to the hope that they were alive but that was slipping away from me. James' disappearance had tipped me over the edge. Can you.. can you use some sort of quadruplet telepathy to find them for me?! I didn't even have the brains to realise that I was talking to a baby that didn't understand, I was too broken, too far gone. Three children, three! They were all missing and I had never felt so stupid, so powerless.. so empty.

Well, you need to start, Dani winked. I think I'd told half the planet by this time.... want to do the same? Or just stick to the family friends for now?

Daphne laughed, and remarked that she would be reacting more usually. Dani shrugged.

Not sure.... Lowri, maybe? Or Pippy, but I'm not sure if good news would help her or not.... I think Tracy's still busy at her halfway house...

I was still glazing imploringly at Braedon, praying to him to just give me a sign, just give a clue of where his siblings were. I had to blink through my tears to be certain, but he had suddenly bust into a giggle. I wasn't sure how to react to that - even through all this, in the middle of all this pain.. seeing him laugh seemed to make it better. And then suddenly, it did.

Out of no where, three babies appeared, identical to Braedon, to Carter and to James. The one at the back watched me closely and then blinked, changing into Elodie. I blinked once, twice, thrice, trying to make sense of this. Was this some sick prank being played on me from whoever is behind this? Clones! They're clones! shouted Noah when he appeared beside me.

(What? *is totally confused*)

What?! I questioned, completely baffled by his statement.. and the children appearing in front of me. Braedon, who seemed in complete agreement with his older brother created other boy - identical to him except this one wasn't one of my children.

Noah smiled, picking up his actual brother before he lost him in the amount of duplicates Braedon's power is Advanced Cloning - he can replicate himself and give his clones powers.. Carter, James and Elodie were all clones.

My children are clones?! I squeaked, still completely lost. One of the boys that looked exactly like my sons but weren't any of them began to crawl towards me.

They were never real mum.. I'm sorry, I should have.. seen it sooner, it's just James was blocking me.

(Does this mean you'll only have Braedon permanently? )
