Sad? He only appeared in that episode! You can't get emotionally attached to such a minor character! And it was pretty obvious that he'd become the sherrif, that's like a given in any western themed episode of something...

Pretty much Even Dean was the sheriff Yeah, I don't get it - I mean, speaking as someone who gets attached to fictional characters, I at least need a few episodes for it really upset me. Then again, if Spike'd died in School Hard, I'd have spent my life in mourning

I turned it off for five minutes when they were building up the suspense with the stepping out of the village thing to watch spike in his new and attractive clothes because I think that scene was the one from the trailer - "Anyone who isn't an American, put your gun down"?
