Actually, it's Power Absorption. Empathic Mimicry is where you just copy the power. You don't keep it. Like Rouge out of X-Men.

That may be for X-men, but not in Heroes. Power Absorption is the name for Arthur Petrelli's ability. Empathic Mimicry is the name for Peter Petrelli's old ability. Power Replication is the name of Peter Petrelli's new ability.

Maybe Hiro could let him go back in time and touch his past self? Maybe somewhere along the line, someone bumped into him and it was actually his future self... (yes, ridiculous, but with Heroes you never know...)
