Lola let herself in through the back door, and crashed onto the sofa in the living room. The place was intact, shining and new. They'd only just moved in here, trying to move away yet again from the memories of her grandparents and their deaths.
She sighed, and forced the thoughts away. She didn't like thinking about that, it was depressing, and rather frightening with the way it was now affecting her father. So she didn't think about it if she could help it.
Her parents were away. Her father campaigning at one of those mutant hate rallies, her mother going to support him. She rolled her eyes. Yes, a part of her could understand his hatred, after what had happened. But that had just been some of the mutants, not all.

She sighed again, getting up and walking over to the stereo in the corner, putting a Paramore album on full blast. She smiled twistedly. It was only when her parents were away that she could do this. Not that she didn't do it anyway.......she started to sing along, laughing and working away her stress.

She smiled, and pointed. The white wash wall had a deep crack, running for about 2 metres, diagonally. It showed the red brick underneath, and even that was dented.

Soon, she'd cheered herself up, pushed the grief over her grandparents, worry for her father and pity for the mutants away, replacing it with her usual good mood. She danced on, not noticing the heat which was starting to emit from her body, particularly from her hands. She only realised something was happening when she heard the crackle of flames.
