World 8 - Brave New World

Leo followed Rhia.

I think we're finished for the day now, I yawned.

Leo yawned to, said goodbye and went home.

Arriving in Candem, I got a cab - as I entered it, the man turned around, and asked me where we were going. I froze, then - I didn't know. I knew mum hadn't moved, I knew she would still live in the same house, no matter who she was living with. But I couldn't even remember my own address - 18 years, and I couldn't remember. I had tried so hard to block out every last memory, and I had done so well

Erm.. do you know where Riley Goldsmith lives? I asked him, slightly hopelessly.

You mean the millionaire guy? Sure, replied the cab driver, and I shot him a confused look.

I don't think so - my brother's a total screw up. Erm, blonde hair, broken nose? I asked, wondering how many Riley Goldsmiths there could be in a smallish town like this one.

Yeah, that's him, chuckled the cab driver, putting the car in gear, and beginning to drive.

Did you catch the game last night? asked the cab driver, attempting to make conversation, as we turned onto the main road - the mainest road there was, but it was only four lanes. In New York, this barely counted as a street.

Didn't even know there was a game, I replied, coolly - there had been a time in my life were football was the best thing in my life.

You're not from around here, are you? chuckled the cab driver, curiously.

I answered immediatly, without thought. What do you mean? I grew up here I mean, I guess I had got what I had wanted - I had never wanted anything to do with this shithole. And I guess now no one knew who I was, I had no strings here, except one. My family.

Your brother's been all over the local news - even made the minor state news, he chuckled. You didn't say please when you got in the cab, and you didn't catch the game last night. You're not acting like you're from here

Leo woke up and wondered if he should go to the company. He didn´t know the times yet for his work schedule, but he guessed he would get moving. Suddenly, Leo got dizzy and saw himself use his car with Technopathy to drive himself. He got back to his ordinary state and guessed it had been his Precognitive Visions that had kicked in. He got himself ready and soon, as the vision had predicted, he was driving to the company. He knocked on the door and waited for an answer.

In the meantime....

Raven didn´t have much patience left. He guessed that his puppets had failed. He turned to his brother. "So, ready to pick a new person out to be our puppet. As usual, he didn´t wait for an answer. He went for the door and went to a random person in the street. After a while talking the person looked terrified and followed Raven and his brother back to their hideout. While their he laughed and said. "Ready for your power? Raven focused and soon their new puppet asked. "Do I have one now?" Raven nodded and gestured that the puppet should show his new talent. A blue lightning was shot out of their puppets hand and on a coke can on the table. Raven looked pleased and said simply. "Perfect!"

Wonder if we can give them more than 1 at a time, Kestrel muttered. He'd tried a few months before, but it hadn't worked then.

"I don´t know." Raven smiled. "I don´t think we lack on humans to become our puppets, though. What should we send this one too?" Raven pointed at their new puppet and talked about him as if he weren´t there.

We have the entire city to choose from, he smiled twistedly.

Raven joined the smile and they both went out and found more puppets. After a while, 7 puppets were before the brothers in a line. The brothers had before them: a Rapid Cell Regenerater, another Telekinetic, a Persuater, a Hydrokinetic, a person with cloning, a flyer and the named leader of the group, the guy with lightning. Raven said with faked respect. "You are the chosen ones that will lead the battle of the company. Are you with me." he puppets screamed a battle scream before rushing out, out to attack the company.


Leo knocked again when no one answered the door.

Eventually, an agent heard the knocking and went to let him in. He recognised the new recruit, and asked why he hadn't just been able to input the code to unlock the door.

(When you say sure, it feels like I´m taking over to much of our plot. *feeling embarassed*)

Leo remembered the code and realized he had totally forgot about it. "I forgot that I had a code.", Leo admitted, embarassed. Lwo walked inside and asked. "So, do you know where my partner is?" Leo had become fond to Rhia and he enjoyed her company.

She hasn't arrived yet, he explained. Seconds later, the alarm was raised as the puppets began their attack. The agent broke off the conversation, rushing off to fight himself. Others went to summon the other agents who weren't in the building yet.

Leo felt a little bit lost without his partner but he prepared himself for a battle. He had no idea which people who had started to attack, but it seemed like a dangerous battle were about to start.
