Elan looked up as she heard the door chime announcing a new customer, and she grinned as she recognised Lola and Mark. She headed over to lead them to a table.
Hey, how are you? she greeted. Congratulations again, by the way. I didn't want to say anything at the time, but I heard.
They both thanked her, smiling back, but Lola seemed a little troubled. After a while, Elan asked what it was.

Tara blushed with happiness, still impossibly excited by the idea - she was finally where she had been hoping she would be.. She was pregnant, she was engaged to the man of her dreams. In most definitions of the word, it was perfect

For someone who had only been pregnant for a week, she was fretting much too much - she had already bookmarked a thousand cute baby clothes shops for later, she was already looking for maternity outfits and she was already clearing out the spare bedroom to turn it into a nursery. Elan waited til her shift was over, then ran immediately to Eve's apartment, on the other side of the city. She was still the last of their old Resistance cell to arrive. Eve let her in, and led her to where the rest were sitting around the table. Eve and James' faces were anxious and worried, while the rest were just expectant.
You said you'd found something, Elan began, barely realising how she was automatically taking control, leading them again. What was it?

Tara fumbled around the apartment as she tried to locate her phone, but the moment she found it - under her What To Expect When You're Expecting to Expect book in the bedroom - the phone stopped ringing. Elan began to argue, stupidly, but she was soon shot down by all the others, who had more sense than her. They pointed out that "But my husband can heal people!" wasn't a good enough reason to risk herself and her child.
