    Tara was weeping when George finally got home from work. He crossed over to her immediately, seeing she had the fine silk wedding dress draped over her knees. What's wrong? he asked, trying to sound comforting.

    The dress doesn't fit! she wailed, unable to believe she hadn't thought of this. I'm too fat! It's the pregnancy. I can't fit into the dress!

    Can't we get it altered? whispered George, slowly. He had known quite how much this dress had meant to her.

    She shook her head, her face turning red from the tears. The fabric is too old! If we try and alter the seams, it'll break!

    George tried to offer some consolation, but what could he say? He knew how much it meant to her that she should get married in that dress. There's still a few weeks to the wedding - could you lose the weight by then?

    He trod carefully, knowing girls tended to get offended whenever weight was brought up, but he couldn't think of a more tactful way to suggest it.

    No, she replied, through her tears. I can't even get into it.

    He winced a little. Could we get another made? Same dress, just bigger?

    She shook her head. She was past anger, left only in self-pity and sadness. It's not the same dress! I need to get married in this dress! It's a family tradition! Ever since I was a little girl, I would look up at my mum's wedding photos and she would tell me every time "One day, you'll get married in that dress, too and it'll be the happiest day of your life". And I was stupid enough to believe her! But now the dress is ruined and the wedding is - it's - pointless.

    It's our wedding, it's not pointless! protested George. He was trying to be understanding, but damn she was making it hard. Look, Tara, I know this isn't good, but we're not going to solve it now! It's nearly midnight, lets just get some rest, and we'll solve it in the morning.

    Tara protested as George took the dress off her lap and hung it back up on its coat hanger. She pulled back down when he tried to pull her to her feet so he swooped her into his hands and quickly walked to the bedroom, since she wasn't the lightest of things, not to mention her protesting. He laid her down and told her to get some sleep, kissing her before saying goodnight. He went to check on the kids and by the time he came back, she was snoring.

    Tara checked on both Sammy and John when she woke up in the morning, feeding them both. She left for work early, knowing she couldn't face George. No matter what he said, it did matter.. it mattered to her, so much. The dress had been the one thing she had known for sure would be in her wedding. And now it was gone. She tried to stem her tears as she was waitressing - Danny and Gracie were also working, since it was only a morning shift. They tried to talk to her, but she ignored them, mainly, trying to focus on the work and nothing else - no other reminders on how her wedding day was basically ruined.

    She ignored the calls from the florist, wondering whether to call and cancel the wedding - no. She couldn't cancel. Her second appointment with the dress fitters was even worse, them informing her there was absolutely no way they could make a replica dress in time and even so, it wasn't the right thing for her. When she got home after her shift, she found the house empty. George was meant to be working, she thought, so why had he taken the kids with him? She shrugged, forgetting it as she sunk into the chair, determined to find a way to save the dress.

    By the next day, Elan had turned her attention back to Lola and Mark's attacker. There hadn't been any more assaults, not for nearly a week, but neither she nor them dared to believe that meant it was over. No. This was just a pause for breath. She'd searched everywhere she could think of for reference to the Chasers Dann had drawn, but hadn't come up with anything relevant. She also couldn't identify the man he'd drawn in particular.

    Since Pippy had been ambushed by her future mother-in-law, Boston was summoned into the lounge by his father. He jutted out his bottom lip in the way he knew annoyed his father as he walked in, slouching. Stand up straight, commanded his father. Boston sighed loudly and rolled his eyes before straightening his back.

    'Sup, dad? asked Boston with another sigh when his father didn't speak. He could feel the rage immediately, blaring back from the future as he began to foresee what his father would tell him.

    His father gestured for Boston to sit, which he refused to do. Please don't interrupt, Boaz, requested his father. Boston barely managed a nod. I need to tell you something. You must first promise not to tell your mother or brother. I'm only telling you because I know your opinion of me could not be worsened.

    You're right about that, snapped Boston. His emotions were a whirl as he tried to focus on the now and the not the anger projected to him through his power.

    There were a few deep breathes from her father before he would begin. Boston positioned himself on the arm of the sofa, resting his dirty shoe on the clean cream sofa. His father did not comment, which surprised Boston mildly.

    He sighed once more. What? prompted Boston, angrily, when his father continued his irritating silence.

    When you were two years old and Cornelius was only eight months, began his father, steadily. I had an affair. He paused for a reaction from his son, but Boston did not through a fit or shout like his father had predicted. I had an affair with Abilla.. and a few months after your brother was born - she grew pregnant.
