Re: A Good Man Goes to War
I know Oh my god, that was insanely awesome. I SWEAR DOWN, I DO CANNOT WAIT FOR SUMMER ANYMORE. I absolutly loved it, and managed to explain, and guess the ending for mum who got 'too confused'.
She kept pausing it asking me thinking. Like when Rory appeared in his centurian outfit, she asked me why. I said to look like a badass. Turns out I was right. And then when Amy's daughter was Melody and not River, I asked her what kind of parents would actually call their daughter River literally. When all the other aliens started to appear - 'I'm guessing he's calling in all his debts.' When the doctor figured out who River was silently -'That leaf thing. I bet he can read the language..' And even with that I LOVED IT

Re: A Good Man Goes to War
i know it was amazing and she killed the doctor as well, like when she got arrested for killing the greatest man she ever knew, because she killed him when she was a kid in the astronaut suit.
however if that is correct, i thought that timelord people cant be at the same place in time more than once :/

Re: A Good Man Goes to War
She's not fully timelord
And yeah, she was the little girl in the alley, as well, but I figured pretty much from when she said she killed someone that it was him. And that means Doctor Who's going to end when Matt Smith wants to leave.. I guess they'll give a good explanation why she killed him, since he obviously knew who she was.

Re: A Good Man Goes to War
but if the doctor dies as the current doctor, that means that there is no more doctor who, doesnt it?
and how is it that she is part timelord?

Re: A Good Man Goes to War
And he has to die as the current doctor, too He's only number 11! I WANT MY TWO MORE DOCTORS.
She was conceived in the time vortex, and to quote Amy 'has a space head.' That's how she's meant to have got the timelord DNA, but it never said she was half-time lord, just a little timelord, which is why it took the doctor a while to notice it, even while looking at the DNA. He didn't even think it was enough to regenerate

Re: A Good Man Goes to War
And yeah, if you listen carefully, apartently that's how the timelords came to be - prolonged exposure to the time vortex. (Although that billions of years, which is why she is not quite time lord )

The way they put it - I mean, I didn't even know it was the last one - sorta believing this is just a really long hiatus?

Re: A Good Man Goes to War
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
River is Melody!!! And the intro was cool, even though I thought she was talking about the Doctor, and was like this - - when then she said "he's your dad" Really liked him getting the recent debt aliens to help him, that was cool. Bit reminiscent of that finale when all the old companions and the spinoff chars helped.

Re: A Good Man Goes to War
BRILLIANT
but what i dnt get, when river song went to help find the little girl, she must of known, and when she scanned the technology and said the girl must of ripped herself out, she must of known it was herself, shouldn't she? Or did she know but just didnt say anything because she knew it could disrupt events in time?

Re: A Good Man Goes to War
I'm guessing she couldn't, because don't all Timelords have some rule where they can't interfere in their own pasts, go back and fix previous mistakes etc? It could have still affected her even though she's only a bit Timelord.
What I'm wondering over, though is - we saw the little girl regen right at the start. Does that mean River's death a few seasons ago was a fake one?

Re: A Good Man Goes to War
With the Doctor's death though, is there any possibility it could have been his Ganger killed? Since he did make a point of mentioning there was a chance his Ganger could have survived and reformed, before.

Re: A Good Man Goes to War
well i pointed that out yday to pippy, but she has part time-lord in her, she isnt half or fully, because river song was there when the astronaut girl/melody killed the doctor. (so they cant be at the same places at once) but i guess it might just be a part time lord thing that they can.
And i dnt think river song died. Her physical body did but her consciousness was saved. Although i would of guessed that she would of regernerated but the doctor said that it was unlikely that she could (even though she did in the 6 months after preview thing) Unless she is just stronger than others think

Re: A Good Man Goes to War
That explains the different appearances But from how I remember, it was pretty clear when the little girl regenerated. Familiar glowing yellow light, and all.
That's kinda what I meant. I think they can be in the same times, but they can't interfere a second time around. So she couldn't try to save or stop herself.
And River did physically die. That's my point. Why didn't she regenerate, when she electrocuted herself, in the library? Or I guess maybe she could have simply ran out of chances.

Re: A Good Man Goes to War
I hope they keep it that she really died, though - I like the whole tragedy of their story.
