New World 9 species

I'm calling them Shifters, and basically they're like they all possess the ability of Formshifting. They can take any appearance, any age, any form, be it object or animal or plant, or even air. It could be what Caden will secretly be. What do you think?

Witches are persons with the power to effect and change by magical means ("Witchcraft"). A witch connects with the elements and forces of nature, in order to practice sorcery. The channeling of this magic can be done non-verbally but is not done so much cus of the increased risk of things going wrong. Instead, witches often chant or say spells to help them do this. The limits of what one can do is limited to the knowledge in spells/chants or ones creativity and also the witch's power. What a with can do is, but not limited to: Channeling: The ability to draw and summon other forms of energy by connecting with another witch or a magical power source, Spell Casting, the ability to change and control events by spells which can range from a single word to a series of words, Conjuration, the ability to command, summon or create an element, object, person or creature, Elemental Control, the ability to control, create, manipulate all of the elements where some witches have an unique element where they have better control and mastery in and Brewing, the ability to be able to brew powerful elixirs and potions with mystical and magical properties. The ability of witchcraft is hereditary but can also be gained by magical or other ways. Some witchtribes are more pwerful than others and when witches are together in a larger group, they can be more powerful be connecting to each other and using this to augment their powers. However, some witchtribes, known as circles, are meant to be in circles and when relatives from all those tribes, often five or six, is present, they can use their full power.

From The Secret Circle. I have watched it and I want to have a race that is almost exactly like those, but I didn't want to make it too much like your bloodwitches.

I don't really know how you'd make hereditary magic different though. And I only added gaining it from life energy so they'd have a potential weakness.

How about just adding some of the things from this species to bloodwitches and melt them together. For example that some bloodwitches have tribes that together buld circles of witches etc.

Maybe we could have a larger group called Witches, and then bloodwitches, elemental witches, whatever Jyiara is and these lot will all be subcategories in it? That was sort of what we partially did in an old RP world which was similar. Your ones could possibly be called Circlic Witches, Coven Witches or Wiccan Witches?

Would the two species be distantly related? Would they know about each other?

Maybe some would and some wouldn't, depending on the rarity of the two and how open they are about it. They should be of the same lineage orginially, so those with much knowledge of their own history would know and those close to other witches. I think at least there should be rumours of one another.

Maybe it could be really rare, old lore which only some academically minded witches are aware of? Or it's turned into legends?

With the Shifters Neo created in W9 a while ago, can I rename them Animal Shifters, since we have another species called Shifters which can shift into more stuff. Actually, the concept's pretty similar to Animagi, the only real difference I can see is 2 abilities instead of 1.
