Re: The Hunger Games
cool. its different to how i imagined. I imagined it being done on a longer time scale, and the wolves look different, but it is good

Re: The Hunger Games
I've seen it online while being too impatient to wait for it to come to cinema here, I'll go and see it properly later Really liked it. Now I'm getting annoyed at seeing review after review which all seem to hate it.....

Re: The Hunger Games
IT'S AMAZING!! Went to see it earlier and oh my days! Loved it!! I can't believe people didn't like it - it's probably the best film of a book I've ever seen! I mean it didn't change the plot at all or ruin the books or ANYTHING!

Re: The Hunger Games
Most I saw were complaining that it wasn't gory enough, half of which hadn't read the books but were comparing it to Battle Royale, a film with just a similar idea behind it

Re: The Hunger Games
The books aren't gory, so the film wouldn't be that bad It's more about the idea of kids being sent to their death than watching them get ripped apart

Re: The Hunger Games
Exactly I thought the books were more gory though - I'd heard that some parts had to be cut out to let the film be a 12A. Or was that just scenes they'd originally had in the film?

Re: The Hunger Games
I don't know I didn't think it was particularly gory.. Could have just been the scene they originally had and they cut out. Erm.. The goriest bits of the books are in the other two so that can't be. I can't think of any really gory moments.. Oh, there was Gale's whipping that was kinda gross..

Re: The Hunger Games
i actually thought the film was more gory than the books. i cant recall anything from the books being gory at all, for example with the wasps, whatever they are called jabber something when all the kids get stung, it just says they get stung and some die. Did u see the girl getting bluddy stun g to death in the film? and when Kato (i think) snapped that boys head?
i was so sad when Rue died.
I think everything was perfect they didnt change anything although i dont remeber katniss getting sent a package of soup? didn't the district from Rue send katniss a package?

Re: The Hunger Games
I can't remember seeing anyone actually getting stung Just then crying out in pain, and you obviously knew what was happening.
That part was sad Had me welling up.
Nah, they didn't include that, if it was in the books. One thing I remember, though, which didn't work out perfectly, was the very last fight where Katniss was waiting to get a clear shot. In the film, it looked like she did have the clear shot cause they weren't struggling and moving enough, so it looked like she was just hesitating over nothing

Cato* And yeah, people said that was really gruesome and when Thresh beat the District One bitch to death, but I didn't think it was that bad
Yeah, Rue's death was horrible! And I can't lie, about 15 minutes into the film, I was crying at the Reaping Just the whole Prim thing really really got to me, and I had to hide my tears to avoid teasing
She was sent soup, yeah Well, it might not have been soup, they were sent some really fancy Capitol food, but I guess they substituted. And I know! But I guess they showed the rebellion instead of showing that bit

You didn't really - you saw Glimmer's mutilated dead body? When she took the bow?
Yeah, they did mess up on that a bit And since she's meant to be literally GODLY with the bow, surely she could have made the shot from only a few metres? But whatever
I did love the film though. It actually made the book make a bit more sense - like some of the bits in Capitol that you never get to see because it's all based from Katniss' perspective, but you can really imagine it being a part of the story? All the stuff with Haymitch? And Secena Crane's death was awesome.
