Eve continued to laugh at everyone's comments, answering that no, she didn't have any plans at the moment. That was the gist of what everyone seemed to be asking. Eventually, people stopped paying attention to her and turned their attentions back to saying goodbye and final congratulations to the newlywed couple.

Danny applauded loudly, throwing cascades of confetti around, which seemed to amuse Rhi, who seemed intent on catching every single piece before it hit the ground. She didn't succeed but the speed did manage to stir up a small wind which sent a lot of the confetti flying.

Boston and Pippy spent the morning pretty much lying in bed watching reruns of the first season of the Office. Boston remarked how it was underrated and Pippy offered the opinion that whilst a good season, the show was too similar to the UK version in the first season and that once it started to branch out on its own, it became a better show. Boston agreed, but only when Pippy accepted that this did not mean the first season was in anyway bad.

Eventually they stirred, Pippy taking a shower whilst Boston made a bowl of cereal. His manners were criticised when his fiancee arrived in the kitchen and didn't have a bowl of cereal already made. She fake-sulked as she poured some almond milk into her coco pops, a dish she called special food, and Boston began fake-apologising for all the things he had ever done wrong. Silence broke out when Pippy accepted his apology and after waiting a few mouthfuls of special food, she voiced her opinion.

So what are we meant to do about the wedding?

Boston chuckled. I was planning on getting married during it, but you can do what you want.

Ha-ha, you're hilarious, she said sardonically, but she did laugh all the same. I meant, are we getting married at your parents?

Boston didn't answer straight away but he already knew what he was going to say. They're my parents, and I hate them and all, but I'd wanna.. He appeared almost nervous.

Boston getting married in Boston, I like it, she remarked. He smiled.

You sure? I know my parents'll be..

Pippy interrupted, Complete and utter asshats who will demand we do everything their way? I don't care, bro. Besides, free wedding? More money, more booze.

The newlywed pair walked out, being ambushed and drowned in confetti as they exited. Lola laughed as she noticed a few pieces which'd stubbornly stuck into her hair, looking almost like snow if it hadn't have been late summer in California. Everyone shouted last congratulations to them as they left.

The next day, Elan was idly playing with Rhi and Ollie while Danny was on a shift at the pizzeria, but in reality her mind was miles away. She couldn't help but think of the attack yesterday. Lola hadn't mentioned anything to her as she had to Danny, but she'd heard the thoughts... their thoughts. She knew they wanted to fight this group. To end them. She also knew that nothing'd get done for at least a month, but she couldn't help beginning planning, out of habit.

While their parents were away, Magda and Stephan were being babysat by their grandparents. Stephan was currently bored, and had thought up a new game. He named his sister, grinning mischieviously with her expression matching because of her empathy, and manipulated her teleportation just as appeared next to him. As a result, they both vanished. When they reappeared, he looked around this new house with interest. He began crawling around, looking, and after a while his sister followed. His attention was soon captured by a train set which was moving on its own.

Magda was fascinated by that, and began chasing the train. Briefly she considered turning into one herself. She leapt however, when suddenly there was a voice in her head asking who she was. She looked around madly. Who had that been? There was another child there, a younger baby barely old enough to crawl. When she looked at him, he waved as if to say it'd been him. The mental voice asked again.

"Who he?" he asked eventually, returning to telepathic talk.

"My brother. Stephan."

"He didn't answer me like you did," the baby frowned. Magda giggled.

"He didn't hear you. It's his power," she explained.

The baby frowned again, and Magda tried to distract him by asking him who he was. He replied Matty. Stephan was by now wondering why they were both being so silent and still, completely unaware himself of the telepathic conversion or the earlier attempt to bring him into it.

Feeling her brother's neglect, Magda's next request of Matty was to begin talking normally again so that Stephan wouldn't be left out. She giggled when she noticed he was talking more fluently than she was! She guessed it was the power, though. She began thinking that he was showing it off a bit too much, so she crawled over to him and altered his appearance through his genetics - just to balance things out.

Magda jumped at the sudden voice, Janice having heard their conversation and wondering what was going on. She asked Matty who it was, but Stephan had jumped too, and reacted before he could answer that it was his mommy. He called Magda's name, and relocated her teleportation just as she appeared before him. They vanished off like they'd arrived. Returning back to their grandparents', Magda was now pouting, upset that she hadn't been able to say goodbye to her new friend.

A month later, she got a phone call from Lola saying that they'd returned. Lola asked if she'd made any progress in locating the rest of their attackers, and Elan had to laugh as she answered. She'd been spending most of her time planning and researching this in the meantime. She and Dann had thought of trying to augment his precognitive abilities again, and eventually it'd gotten them a lot more than the previous time. They basically had everything they needed.

Lola's response to that news clearly showed her enthusiasm. They began discussing the attack immediately, and Elan wondered if she should ask Danny if he wanted involvement or not. He seemed to be on-and-off with her ex-Resistance business, as she thought of things like this.

After he returned, she telepathically told him what Lola had said, and asked if he wanted in. Otherwise, she'd be leaving shortly. She was asking telepathically because she didn't want the children hearing, even though she doubted even Rhi would get most of it.

He declined the invitation. She smiled, hugging and kissing him goodbye, reassuring him that she'd return fine. Then she vanished in a blur. Within ten minutes, she'd reached Lola and Mark's home on the other side of the country. James, Eve and David were already waiting there. They'd agreed to help too. James teleported the group into the home of their first target.

Seconds after they arrived, the man spotted them and sent a blast of fire in their direction. James teleported out of its way, appearing behind him and punching the back of his head. David dodged the spurt, murmuring under his breath to make it vanish after it'd missed him. A second nearly hit Lola. Elan telekinetically deflected the third. The man span around, dizzy after James' hit, but aimed a retaliatory punch at him.

While he was busy fighting James, Elan carefully aimed a stream of electricity at his back. He just turned around as it struck, though. She grimaced. Why did the freak have to be a regen as well as a fire-hurtling killer? The burns she'd inflicted were already healed. He threw more fire at her, which she deflected, but when they touched him they just disappeared without even any need to heal away.

She grimaced again, and tried to think of something which could actually hurt the guy. Continually hurtling him with electricity might have been satisfying, but it wasn't working. He barely even seemed to be feeling it. Most of the time, she was occupied with making the fire miss though, and she noticed David's whispers doing the same thing. That gave her an idea. She telepathically asked him if he could manipulate something into happening to the man. He didn't respond. However, seconds later, the guy stumbled to a halt.

He just collapsed forwards, landing on his face on the floor. Elan glanced over at David, who nodded.

David did that, he's dealt with, she announced. The six of them were teleported to the next Chasers' member's home.

That man reacted almost identically to the first. Spinning around, shock and incredulity on his face, attacking. Elan found herself pinned against a wall by matching telekinesis. Somehow, that seemed insulting. She tried to fight against it, but the man's hold was incredibly strong.
