World 6 Question

Can you think of another way for a new hunter to learn all the tricks and methods, apart from learning from an existing hunter? I don't really want that to happen with Jamie, since it feels a bit repetitive. I've considered doing his own research online and in books, but then I'd think he'd be finding loads of junk and couldn't tell truth from myth. I know I said Alyse gave him some books, but he's gone hunting recklessly without checking them twice now, and I don't know if someone really would have ignored them twice and then suddenly remembered.

One possible crazy idea, but he could learn stuff from a website like the Ghostfacers

Maybe he finds a book passed down from families. Or the skills gets implanted into him somehow or memories get exposed to him somehow.

He doesn't have access to any family books though, given that he was adopted as a child - that's why he wasn't forewarned about being a Grimm. And he has no way to access other people's memories.

maybe somebody else can do it to him, well give him the memories somehow. Or accidentally implant them in him somehow

Not sure who though. Currently no chars can do it.

If you were wondering, the Ghostfacers are these goofy amateur ghosthunters who post real ghost hunting tips on their website and try to get film footage of ghosts cause they think it'll make them famous.

oh  otherwise i can't really think of any other ideas. Maybe he finds someone to train him but he doesn't realise that they were one?

Now I'm wondering how you could train someone without him realising what you're doing and guessing from that that you're another hunter

I don't know, I assume researching by himself, which is how most of mine did, I'm not sure! Researching and hoping you can sift through the bullshit?

Maybe some real hunters have also been nice and put up a secret website explaining how to make an EMF reader etc? He'll also meet one non-hunter who'll know about the supernatural world and will be able to help him sift out some of the shit.

Actually, weren't the Harris brothers trained by their parents? Then they'd be able to train Don, and whatever training Nayeli'd need apart from witchcraft. I think Isaac's the only one of your group who'd have had to self-teach.

Yeah the Harris are a hunting family  Seth, as well, although he had his client, he was technically pretty insane so Seth would have done some research and stuff himself
