My abilities, opinions?

Moving over could work. It's weird - half my reluctance is cause Pippy was the first to give shadow wings as a variant of Wing Production, and obviously she isn't here for me to check it with her. There's also one character with more insectile wings - should that be something like Insectile Wings or Insect Wings?

Artificial Material Manipulation

The ability to manipulate anything which is artificial or man-made. It includes manipulating metals, plastics, textiles and even most foods since they have been processed in one way or another. Possibly it could also manipulate computers, but I'm not sure about the "material" bit there and whether it'd then be too much. It was inspired by you arguing ages ago that abilities should only be capable of manipulating natural substances

the way i see it is that, if abilities are a part of evolution, then it is a natural process therefore they should only be able to control natural-type things... if you understand me. I know that was the poorest explanation ever!

I sort of get it. You could argue though that some artificial things have been around for so long, we've evolved to have them as part of our natural environment.

What do you mean, like what? There were a few things I'd listed in my ability post - stuff like metal and textile is synthesised but it's been around for centuries. Even with something as recent as computers, you could argue that a young person could manifest it, like Micah, because they've existed for his entire life.

Technically everything is made from natural resources if you go back long enough Plastic is made from manipulating crude oil, and the silicon used to make computer chips is mined. Metal has to be processed from its mined form to resemble what we'd recognise as metal. Same with all materials and textiles.

Photographic Shapeshifting/Photographic Mimicry

The ability to shapeshift in order to copy any appearance seen in a photo. One has to see a photograph of the person before being able to shapeshift into him or her. This means that one could mimic a younger form of a person, as well as the current appearance. The temporary appearances of shapeshifters and others with appearance changing abilities can also be copied, if they were photographed.

Yeah, not seeing the person or touching them/DNA, just a photo. Which name do you think is best?

Thanks I was re-reading old W2 threads and the whole Zach/Elle thing got me thinking about how someone could possibly shapeshift into a younger version of Gabriel, cause Zach looks so much like his dad but was physically 20 at the time. I thought maybe someone could copy from an old photo.

What, like one of those manips which has one person's head on a different person's body? Interesting question. I think it could be mimicked. Especially if it was a realistic looking manip, or the shapeshifter didn't actually know the photo was fake.

Hope Induction

The ability to induce hope in others. It can make people more hopeful and optimistic, and prevent them from giving up. Sometimes it can help a person to find a solution to their problems too.

Access Mimicry

The ability to mimic anything needed to access information or a physical place. One could turn one's hand into a key to open any mechanical lock, or mimic fingerprints or retinal patterns to pass biometric locks. One could mimic memories to access passwords or the answers to security questions. One could even mimic another's voice to persuade someone to divulge confidential information.
