Tannith sighed, digging her nails into her palms to try to hide how they were forcibly elongating. She couldn't tear her eyes from where she'd seen Poppy and the murdering vampire vanish into the horizon. Her jaw was clenched shut, and when she spoke her words were hoarse and forced.

(The murderer has spoken with Poppy, identified himself as George, and explained that he attacked cause his mate Ellen was killed in the Malus attack. And Tannith has ran off into the wilderness cause this is making her lose control of her Hunter side. Which is bad news.)

Deep in the forest, Tannith stopped, shaking and curling in on herself. She collapsed to her knees, leaning heavily onto a tree. She couldn't support herself, and her breathing was harsh, laboured. Her entire body was shaking. Her entire body was fighting.

He didn't follow rules, just as she and Adonis didn't. They killed often. The beautiful woman flitted down to the man, only to walk past him, to catch his scent. Aphrodite cranked up her ability, making him want her. She was testing him, seeing if he was good enough for Athena. She deserved the best.
