Celebration was the last thing on everyone's mind. Most of the survivors were standing around, shocked, not fully mourning yet. Lleucu was still kneeling, burying her face in Seth's flank, tears flowing freely down her face. Tomas hadn't moved at all. Siena had her arms around Robert, trying to comfort him, without a clue of how. She couldn't imagine what he was going through, even after having lost her own pack-siblings. Charlotte had buried herself in Ryan's arms, too desolate to think of pushing him away as she usually would have done.

Lleucu was hearing the growing thoughts of leaving, but she couldn't bring herself to move. Raising her head would be admitting the truth, admitting that Tannith was really gone. Gone, and wouldn't be returning, couldn't come back. She'd died saving them all, destroying Death, but she was still dead.

They were all standing or sitting about, the shock slowly starting to fade off, leaving the tears to fall. Leaving only mourning to be done. Ariana was gazing around vacantly, with her arm around her husband, thinking only of how they'd failed, how she'd failed personally. She hadn't even seen this coming.

Lleucu sighed. A part of her felt that she should argue that, and say that it'd been Tannith's choice and duty, and that no one could have stopped her. But she knew that Ariana would have taken it as false comfort, and refused it. She didn't have the heart to argue the issue.
