Tomas... she whispered again, hesitantly placing a hand on his shoulder. He still gave no sign. Not a stir. He didn't react, he didn't move at all. She talked to him telepathically, only to get the same lack of result. If she hadn't been able to detect brain activity, she'd have believed he'd died too.

Aidan continued to follow Summer in secret, worrying over where she was going and how much danger she could get herself in. If this enemy - whoever it was - could kill Autumn, he or she could easily kill Summer.

She didn't even think to stop running for hours, which felt like days, her tears finally stemming, for mere moments, as she attempted to bring herself together enough to speak. She could smell the other vampires, but she had no idea what to say.

Aidan continued to tail her, growing more and more confused with each second. What was she looking for? He'd have thought she'd be searching for the attacker's trail, but she showed no sign of doing that. And he couldn't ask her what she was doing. Confused, lost in his thoughts, he began making the mistake of not paying enough attention to his own surroundings.

By now, it was the next day. The house was eerily silent, everyone mourning the loss of Tannith and Ryan and Alistair. After having managed to win so many battles without losses, no one had guessed that they'd be returning this time with fewer numbers, fewer members. No one had prepared themselves for that possibility.

Klaus walked over to his sister, who was by now healed from the injury she had gained from the battle. He wa supset, although he didn't know the people that died very well, he knew they were nice people, good people. His sister walked over to the kitchen, although the house seemed empty and quiet it was full of people.

Pippa, Rajan and Tracy were all sitting at the kitchen table when she entered. They glanced at her briefly, then looked away. There was nothing to say. Talking to anyone only seemed to be inviting condolences, which would be meaningless even though they were well-meant. Pippa lowered her head again, burying her face in her hands.

All the vampires in the clearing seemed to know what was going to happen, as she lowered her head, slowly, avoiding eye contact, and trying to prove she wasn't dangerous

And we don't mean any harm, said a short brunette. There were three of them, in total - a tall african-american male vampire, a short brunette female and a bulky vampire, with short light brown hair. They flitted into a line, almost at the same moment, the woman standing in the middle.
Yet, finished the bulky one, with a threatening glance.

Summer sighed, trying her hardest not to cry, as she knew some of the names she was going to have to say The leader is Tannith Firelock, and then the founders are Tannith, Avril Capet, and Phillippe Capet. The Council members are Tannith, and her husband Tomas, my parents, Jack Calwin, but he's dead, so his daughter Lola took over, and Tracy. Tannith's sister Lleucu was, but she turned down the position. Tannith and Tomas have eighteen children. The quintruplets are Rajan, Pippa, Matthew, Chris and Charlotte. Then triplets.. That's.. she swallowed, audibly, forcing herself not to cry. Jensen, Riley.. and Aiden. She spoke the name softly, but her tone was filled with guilt - she had hurt him, she had hurt herself. All to be here. Then they had twins, that's Nyasia and Lyla, and she just had eight more girls - Becca, Sofia, Alivia, Eboni, Cate, Darcie, Mackensie and Gracie. Tannith's sister Lleucu and werewolf Seth Grey were recently married, and have three children - Alessia, Harrison and Ethan. Then there's.. my parents. They've got ten children, but.. there's only nine, now. Jack's the eldest, then.. there's me, I'm Summer. Then there's Dean, Sammy and Lowri, and finally Dani, Carina, Stell and Pheebs.
