(He could do that. And what difference would it really make if it was original or induced? Apart from that the other villains would trust him because they'd have a hold on him, which is what they'd want)

Okay, I'm gonna go to the bathroom, and when I get back, can you have at least made up a reason? I asked, leaving the table. I checked my hair and make up in the mirror, and by the time I had returned to the table, sheldon was standing up, next to a slightly taller man. The taller man had his arm slung around Sheldon like they were old friends, but sheldon looked far from comfortable.

I was about to ask the same question, I replied, unable to really come up with an acceptable answer.
I spent about nine months with my legs wrapped around him, chuckled the new man, while Sheldon rolled his eyes. I had a feeling my eyes widened slightly - not that I had an issue with them being gay, I wasn't homophobic. I was just normally quite good at reading people, and I hadn't guessed this one.
My brother finds it entertaining to imply sexual innuendo while explaining that the two of us are twins, said Sheldon, clearing up my confusion.

After a little while longer, he gave up on expecting any answer, and simply left the room. Another 2 hours and he'd left the house. After all, he had a job to return to, his own life to go on with. They'd need to keep those up in order to maintain a cover.

He walked the short distance from the HQ to his campaign quarters, a little shocked really that they'd happened to be so close to each other. Or maybe that was some kind of a sign. He'd only entered politics at his family's encouragement, really, at their begging for him to straighten up. But now..... their new plans were reminding him of the power at the heart of it all. Just a hand's breadth away.

However, the hours at work began to wear at him, and small doubts began to creep into his mind. Could their plan really work? Wouldn't people oppose them? What if they weren't the only potent force out there which had gained these powers? He shook his head, trying to clear it, and when that wasn't successful he decided to use his lunch hour to go for a long walk around the neighbourhood, hoping that'd work instead.

For once, I had the day off, without any shifts at the diner. I'd decided to go visit my aunt and siblings, and was by now heading home after that. I walked the short distance from her house to the nearest subway station, watching the people I passed on the way. I still wasn't completely used to the new knowledge I'd be gaining from them. I'd know exactly what each of them was feeling, what was troubling them, what they feared and what they desired. I knew everything.

However, one of the people I passed made me slow, hesitate. I could see that he was filled with confusion himself, feeling lost and lusting for power, meaning.... something. But that wasn't what made me stop. It was the ability which did it.

Just like when I'd met Jennifer, a few days ago by now, I could barely prevent myself from gasping out that he was like me. But at least I had managed to stop that. As it was, I was standing there, frozen, and I was pretty sure I was staring intently at him. I could feel his emotions change, wondering what I was looking at like that. But there was something else, too. A new kind of knowlege.
