I didn't spare him a second glance as I walked out of there, almost as fast as I could move without running. It'd been a mistake to have even come here. A mistake to even try. That thought kept dwelling in my mind the entire drive back home to New York.

I went to meet my biological father.... or I thought I'd try, anyway, I began explaining, firstly the reasoning which had made me do so even with what I'd known, and after - more falteringly - I tried to explain what had happened, how he'd without any warning attacked me at the first mention of my abilities. I sighed. If he and Gabriel - Sylar - are really what my family are like, I'm not sure if I want to be a Gray anymore....

I was frozen at first, unsure if I'd heard him correctly. Or rather, I was sure.... I just didn't know what to do. This was so sudden, so spontaneous. Or it was as far as I knew, anyway. Slowly, a grin began to fill my entire face.

Again, he tried to wake her, but nothing seemed to work. The depth of her sleep was also beginning to seem more and more unnatural. Something was wrong... dangerously wrong. Starkly, he now remembered her earlier fears and the man she'd said had known about her. They didn't seem as foundless now. But there was still nothing he could do to help her.
