Braedon didn't have much longer to offer bad comfort. Cassidy put on a smile when she heard the front door swing open and two seconds later I was in the kitchen. Gabriel entered a few moments later A fifteen minute head start and you still lost, I commented.

Cassidy left it at that, letting the whole occasion blow over. Braedon left again and when he made it over to Zach's, his brother had sobered up enough to ask if "the frigid one's been dumped yet". Braedon didn't bother hiding his laugh as he accepted Zach's offer of a drink. The brothers chatted for a while, until they were interrupted by the arrival of Stiffy. Zach greeted him with a single nod but Braedon stood up, hugging the man warmly. I never see you anymore, Stiffs. You really should come out more. You'd be surprised on the drama you're missing.

2 more years had passed by now. Tessa had gotten used to her new routine as a mother, used to sharing Jenni with Shelton and also used to how their daughter seemed to switch personalities every other second thanks to her ability. After a year, she'd began studying at NYU, and after a term, Darrien had also transferred to join her. She'd pretty much insisted on that, after he'd idiotically nearly killed himself overusing Command. She'd said he needed her there to babysit him.

She was on her way back to their apartment from a seminar right now. However, something kept interrupting into her thoughts, random things she'd heard about people acting weirdly recently, consistantly weirdly. She wondered if it had something to do with one of them. Normally, she'd just contact her mam or someone else from the Organisation about that, but now that idea seemed to irritate her. Why should she turn to the professionals? Surely she could cope with one little thing? It wasn't as if anyone had gotten killed, after all. She could handle this little one. Easily.
