As our backs were turned, a man emerged from the bushes, and another appeared beside the house. One was black.... no hair. He looked blank. Unreadable. The other was a convoy of emotions. Horn Rimmed Glasses, brown hair, a few warts. Crinkled skin. And a taser in his hand.
I noticed the Black Guy's hand was filled with a taser, as well, and they both fired. One hit Daniel in the black. The other hit me in the forehead.

I give him an address near the motel. I don't want to see their reaction when they see how cheap and sleazy it is. It really is the kind of place you'd see in a movie, when a celebrity or politician is having some illicit affair.

I grimace. I bend down to look at my cousin. How was I going to help? He needed a doctor.

I got out, waving at both. I made sure they'd both gone out of sight before I approached the building, and let myself into the room.

What a weird day.........surreal, really. I'm too tired to look up, or I'd have another reason to freak out if I could see my reflection. And if I'd have enough energy to remember that my eyes used to be grey.

I help my mother inside, as she sleeps downstairs in the guest bedroom. I tuck her in bed, and check the monitors that she is connected to. The cancer was bad, she had days to live if that. I would try my blood but it wouldnt work, she refused to let me try. My abilities never worked around her. I kiss her on the forehead goodnight, as she may never wake up again.
