He smiled, broadly, as he walked across the grass to the blanket near the shade of some trees, but not quite in it. He took a seat on one side of the blanket, and poured Elan a glass of the champagne. The looks of some of the people walking past made him laugh a little bit - it was midday, and they were sitting near the middle of a park, on a picnic blanket, with champagne.

(If they did notice, she'd just telepath them out of it depending on how they reacted )

She grinned across at him, taking a seat on the blanket and accepting the glass. The memory of the last time they'd had such a picnic flashed briefly into her mind.

When I first met you, Elan, I knew I loved you - you were beautiful, you were perfect.. and you know you changed my life, both in that world and this. The time I saw you covered in the burns, at Kirby Plaza, not far from death.. I knew then the pain thinking of you dying caused, and... I knew I wanted to spent my life with you. I've known for a long time. You're the only person I want in my life, Elan.. so will you be my wife? he asked, getting down on one knee, and pulling a small black box out of his pocket. Opening the box, revealed a beautiful white gold ring, with a diamond stone.

I will, she answered simply, her smile lighting up her face. There were tears in her eyes, and she was ecstatically happy, even more so than the first time he'd asked.

I love you, he smiled, pushing the ring onto her finger, then stealing a kiss from her lips.

And I love you more, she replied, twining her hands around his neck as she kissed him back.

Must you always try and make a competition? he chuckled, between feather light kisses.

I think I do, she replied, grinning. And I think you love me for it.

It felt like hours later before they broke apart. Her lips were flushed, and she was breathing a little heavily, unwilling to let him go or tear her eyes from his.

What will we tell people? she wondered aloud. About the engagement

Danny took Elan's hand, and pulled her to her feet, swagging slightly, as he kissed her again

She laughed, clinging to him, blissfully happy.

He continued on, hailing a cab and giving off the address, a place he'd never been to before or seen, but he just knew from another's memories. Lily. She'd be back home now, after having been in DC for the weekend. Something was just telling him that he had to go see her.

Arriving, he knocked on the door, waited for a reply. Lily opened it, squealed and threw herself onto him in a hug.

Dann! What are you doing here?
