I don't know how. I just... I just know. I've been just knowing a few things, recently, and I don't know where they're from. Maybe it's from some new ability, a fifth one.... but that doesn't matter. What matters is, it isn't an ability you're looking into. I'm certain of that.
An ability? I questioned. She nodded, again certain. And if she was.... well, I knew that there were ones which could be used to detect facts. Nae's, for one. In that case, it'd have to be true.... but what else can it be?
Lee shrugged.
I don't know. I don't have the answer for that one. I can just sense that it won't be an ability causing all this trouble.
What else could it be, though? I questioned, perplexed. Lee smiled apologetically.
Whatever this sensing this is, it doesn't give me the answer to that. Sorry.

I nodded, saying goodbye and returning to my searching, leaving her to go back to training. Mindful of her message, I now searched for any alternate methods of gaining abilities. But everywhere I looked, I came up blank.

I'd spent the entire day continuing to search, but got the same luck - nothing. There was no record or mention, anywhere, of any other method of gaining abilities apart from being born with the relevant genes. Since future Jess had been so certain that there was another way, I began suspecting there was some sort of cover up here. Or maybe I was just being paranoid. Eventually, I pushed the issue to the back of my mind for the day, and went back home. The next morning, I decided to go visit my mum, taking Jess with me since she hadn't met her yet.

Once we'd arrived, Jess immediately flew over to her, and begged to be picked up. I laughed, and introduced them as Katherine did so. We began talking, and I noticed her slight hesitation when I mentioned what I'd been researching recently.
