Over the next months, she slowly made herself lose herself in pride and joy as her newest children grew, though she'd still wince every time one of the three reminded her of their father, and every time she let herself think that Nathan should be there too. She tried to focus on the positives. She did have five beautiful, wonderful children... at least she had them. And they needed her, so she had to go on. She kept telling herself that, hypnotising herself into believing it. She kept saying that one day she'd be so used to this wound that she'd stop realising that she felt it, even if it never healed.
