Those dreams continued for months. She never let her mother know that she was giving herself those dreams deliberately. They weren't nightmares precisely.... she was only waking up crying as she was trying to work them out. Her dad was in those dreams.

For months, she hadn't known what to do about that. Her dad was in the dreams, but he wasn't there when she was awake - what did that mean? What was she meant to do? It took her a while to realise the truth. She finally had, and this time, instead of sleeping and dreaming and waking her mom with her crying, she stayed awake and crept over to her triplets' cribs once the house was quiet. She poked them awake and hastily silenced them. Cheerfully, she explained that they had a mission: the dreams had been showing her how to save their dad.

Ceri immediately asked how, but April just hushed her. She didn't want to admit it, but she hadn't seen that part. She hadn't seen it all. Just bits, and results... just their dad back. Quickly, she turned her attention to their brother, asking Benjamin to focus. It'd be much harder to teleport to someone's location in the future than to their present location, she knew, but he had to do it. Slowly, they began fading away, until suddenly everything vanished.

She'd closed her eyes, instinctively, as they travelled, but now she opened them. And looked around in wonder. Where was this? The future, she knew, but no more details than that. Both of her siblings were in the same mindset, staring around. Benjamin noticed the man they'd travelled to meet, and crawled over to him.

That man immediately noticed the three infants appearing from nowhere. When Benjamin began poking his leg, begging for attention, he picked him up. April crawled over to him too.
Nathan Petrelli? she asked, struggling over the words. She'd only known them because she'd heard them from her dreams, and was copying the memories. That's all she was doing, in all of this.
One of them, he responded with a slight smile. Who are you?

I don't know how, though, he protested. Benjamin interrupted then, telling April to just project her memories of the dreams to him. She did so. Within minutes, Nathan had gotten to his feet and was staring absently at an empty space. The intense concentration didn't show on his face. But recreating the exact same vortex was nigh impossible.....

It did appear though, and as he continued to concentrate, it slowly opened up. It didn't suck anything in, since he was forcing it to do the opposite. Slowly, something began coming into view. It got closer, and became clearer. One Ceri could see, she grinned and jumped up onto the bench to reach. This was her part of the rescue.

Careful as not to fall into the black hole herself, she laid a hand on their father's body, and concentrated. She'd never done this before. But April had said that she could. She'd said that she knew it'd work, that she'd seen it. Ceri willed him to come back to life, focused on it and focused on it, then all of a sudden, it had worked. She leapt back down from the bench with a grin.

Slowly Nathan raised his head, and blinked in confusion. Where was he? He remembered being with Emma in that car park.... but this wasn't there.... where was he? Where was she? Was she safe? The rest of the memories returned slowly. That black hole.... he'd been drawn into it. It'd crushed him. It'd killed him. Had someone found some way to bring him back?
He looked around again, this time taking more note of his surroundings. It looked like some sort of park, rather empty. There was one young man there, around his age or apparent age anyway. And three children. The nearest, a little blonde girl, grinned at him as he looked at her.

For a moment, he just stared at the little girl who'd spoken. She just smiled back. He didn't say anything, just lost in confusion. The only daughter he had had brown eyes like his, not blue like hers, and these 3 looked the same age and acted as siblings.... suddenly though, he remembered the hesitant half-arguements, half-warnings from Dani, and from Abbie. And he wondered too how long had passed since his death. He'd assumed it'd been instant, or only a few days ago.
I saved you, Daddy, she announced, interrupting his thoughts. Then her sister coughed, and she corrected herself. Well, we saved you... us and our cousin, Nathan.

Yeah, I was named after you, the younger Nathan admitted, answering his namesake's questioning look. I'm Darrien and Emma's son - the one she was pregnant with when you got killed. That's almost becoming a family tradition... a weird one.
Seems it is, he laughed. Nathan added that he had a younger brother too, and wondered aloud if he'd need to get himself killed temporarily one day to continue the tradition.

Probably, April interrupted, gaining laughs from the other 2. Benjamin poked her, and she mentioned that they should be going back to their own time now. She hadn't seen more after they succeeded in saving Nathan. That meant she didn't have any guidance now, and it worried her a bit. Nathan thanked his nephew, who just grinned at that and asked what else could he have done. Then the four vanished away back to their original time.

They arrived back at their home. April grinned at her dad one last time, then crawled away to the next room searching for her mom. Dani picked her up when she found her. Wordlessly, she reached up to her mother's face, and projected the memories over to her. The dreams she'd been hiding for months, the visions, the future.... everything.
As she saw this, Dani nearly dropped her daughter in shock. For a moment, she just couldn't believe it. They'd saved Nathan..... Nathan was back?! Really back? It was incredible!! She didn't say anything, just raced into the other room and threw her arms around him. Only then did she realise how she was weeping for joy.

The next day, Nathan began transporting around to explain to everyone that he'd been saved. He arrived outside Emma and Darrien's home in the early evening. When his brother saw him at the entrance, he could only stare for a moment, before overcoming the shock and ushering him in with a one-armed hug.
Nathan!! he gasped. How... you're alive?!!!
I noticed, he commented drily. It was the triplets.. they travelled to the future and got your son to help them save me.

Darrien Commanded himself out of the house, heading to meet his current girlfriend, Casey. They'd been dating for about 3 weeks now. She grinned as he appeared before her. She knew about his powers, of course, though she didn't have any of her own - he always told people, in order to show off, and it wasn't as if he couldn't simply tell people to forget it all if they freaked, or if they got pissed off at him and decided to expose him.

Everyone else panicked and screamed and tried to run as they heard the gunfire. Darrien's eyes scanned around, trying to find something electronic to project into, to hide, or trying to find the shooter in order to persuade him.

His eyes landed on the man. Cautiously, he pulled himself upwards, got eye contact, opened his mouth to speak. All he managed was a gasp of pain though.
The man had spotted him, fired. He couldn't think of any persuasion or command with what felt like a few holes blazing through his torso. Seconds later, Casey collapsed beside him, hit too.

Awkwardly, he fell beside her. His hands fumbled, eyes blurring so much that he was almost blind. He could tell that there was blood staining his hands though. Not sure if it was his or hers. Probably both. Outside, people were still screaming, but it was like he could hardly hear them.

He winced, and tried to raise his head just a fraction. He blinked this vision clear. It was hard to think, through the pain of his injury. Didn't seem to be too serious though.
