That's a shame, she replied, quickly racking her brain for intellectual things to say. So.. erm.. Her voice trailed off and she began to blush

Dani's pregnant with their first child, offered Braedon, seeing her flounder.

For a few weeks now, she nodded, beaming. But how did you know, Braedon? I was sure you hadn't arrived yet when I announced the news before.

Cassidy offered her congratulations

You know how it works in this family, explained Braedon, shrugging. I'm surprised Alex managed to keep you away from nearly four years

Probably afraid I'd snake you away, slurred Zach, draping an arm around Cassidy's shoulder.

Speaking of snakes.. began Braedon, before the rest of his words were cut off by Zach's laughter.

Yeah, I'd stay miles away if I were you, Cassidy, Dani warned her, winking. There was a slight serious tone to her voice, though.

Dani doesn't mean that, chuckled Zach, spreading his second arm out to drape it over Dani's shoulders. Dani loves me.

Cassidy couldn't find any words to say, reduced to the shy awkward girl she normally was. Braedon giggled childishly at the face she pulled as she tried to step out of Zach's reach. Oh, don't worry about him, I've already called dibs if you and Alex don't work, he offered in an attempt comforting way.

Cassidy wished she had the guts to find some words that would convince the two of them to leave, but none came to her. She was near enough to hyperventilating when Alex came over. Zach found a new target almost immediately and Braedon wandered off at the sight of the blonde bartender his mother had hired. Cassidy smiled when she saw Alex, but still shot both his brothers angry looks.

Just ignore those two, Dani advised her, trying to cheer her up. And never let yourself be alone with Zach. Trust me.

Why? asked Cassidy, slightly foolishly, but she was trying to recover both herself and the conversation.

He's just an awful person, offered Alex, turning to wink at his brother who was still watching them closely from the distance. Especially an awful brother.. to everyone except Braedon.

Oh, I know a lot about awful brothers.. mine just don't tend to hit on me.

I will, she agreed, seeing that there was something about the way Dani and Nathan treated their cousin that seemed much too.. cold.

Dani smiled, glad that Cassidy seemed to be heeding the warning, and also that the conversation topic had been evaded.

(We've covered the basics - wouldn't mind having her talk to someone who refers to her as Alex's dirty little secret But I don't think I can do anymore Zach or Braedon conversations without ending up with her fully hating them both..)

(I was deliberately focusing on Zach And it's not like Dani or Nathan could ever talk nicely about him If you want that comment, make her leave and go talk to someone else?)

Cassidy wandered off from Dani and Nathan, following Alex's lead. She joined in his conversation with Jacob and Zoe for a few minutes, before finding it was hard to follow since half of it was telepathic. He noticed that neither Kayla or Tyler were trying to join in with them, so she stopped as well, accidentally bumping into a beautiful blonde girl. I'm so sorry.. Lucille, right?

Close, Lucia, she laughed. And you're Cassie? Cassidy? Alex's dirty little secret for 4 years.

Passing, Hayley coughed that her sister was one to speak.
