Days had passed. Now, Elan was preparing to go meet her cell before the raid on Yellowgate. They were to meet and their usual places, and then they'd run to meet the other cells in the small town next to the prison, and finish their plans before launching the attack.

Elan ran to pick up Lily, and then to meet Lola and Mark. Then they ran to Pittsburg, to the safehouse where they'd be meeting the other cells. Yellowgate was located 65 miles away.

Soon, they were all gathered. Elan glanced around, slightly alarmed by how few were here, and how easy it was to see round the room. She shook her head, telling herself she should have expected this - it was, after all, the one reason behind this planned raid. It was madly dangerous but neccessary. She was feeling slightly anxious and she couldn't block out the surrounding thoughts. They were filled with fear, nerves and drive.

They discussed and finalised the plans, even though they knew how likely it was for these plans to go awry. They knew the odds were stacked against them. They knew how many previous members had died attempting what they were about to attempt. But they couldn't and wouldn't yield.
Tense and nervous, hearts pumping and adrenaline coursing through their bodies, they separated into their teams. Each time consisted of the remnants of 3 cells, and there were 5 teams. Each team contained one teleporter or master of the time/space continuum, who would take them to Yellowgate, and hopefully survive to get them out.

Elan watched as the other 4 teams flickered away one by one. Hers was the last to leave. She gathered her courage, and stepped forwards to the others, grasping Lily's hand reassuringly. She could tell the girl was frightened though she was trying her best to hide this.

They arrived outside the exterior walls of the prison complex. The original plan was for Sasha to manipulate the light to make them invisible while they fought their way inside - it'd be impossible to teleport further inside since no one had seen within the building.
However, they arrived in the midst of a raging battle.
Shots were flying through the air, terrifyingly close. All that could be heard was gunfire and crackling and screams and the sound of impact. Smoke filled all lungs. Elan was forced to duck as a bullet skimmed her scalp. The next thing she was was a shot hitting Sasha in the head, another killing their teleporter Mimi. Mark only managed to get a hold of Lola in time to prevent another shot from killing her, phasing them both through. Elan grabbed hold of whoever she could, and just ran.

Eventually, Elan stopped in the shadow of a door, only briefly, only long enough to electrocute the lock. She'd lost Mark by now, though Lola and Lily were still with her. Telekinetically breaking the door inwards, she ran in with them.

She kept running for what felt like hours, the place a complex and convoluted maze. She felt that she was tiring, but she forced herself on. There'd previously been a building-wide inhibition of abilities, but it'd been the task of 2 out of 5 teams to take this down. It didn't seem they'd been fully successful.

Eventually, she slowed down. They seemed to have lost any pursuit, for now at least. She couldn't hear any guards' thoughts, but she couldn't be sure because there were so many prisoners in the building. Looking around, she realised she had Lola and Lily with her, as well as 2 others from their team: an electrical absorber and projector named Krissy, and an illusionist named Jerry.

Elan created electricity within her palms and passed some to Krissy, who stored it for future use. They were a few footsteps away from a block of cells. Elan, Krissy and Lily destroyed the lock system, accidentally setting off an alarm. Lily deactivated it by augmenting and overloading it, but it was too late. The alarm had been raised, the secondary inhibition system had been activated in that block, and agents were on their way.

Already, she could feel the electricity within her palm dying away. She glanced around, only to see there was no real hope of escape, nowhere to run. She hurled the weakened electricity at the first guards who approached, but it flickered and died far too soon. Then all she could do was dodge the bullets, pulling her comrades out of the fire when she could.

When he'd gotten separated from the group, Mark had phased through the walls to evade the fight. He'd freed a few prisoners, phasing into the cells and therefore not triggering the alarms Elan's group had. He had by now, using his newest ability, found his way to a sort of control room. When he saw that his comrades were trapped, he tried to work out a way to deactivate the secondary inhibitor. He'd already seen that the 2 groups who'd taken down the first inhibitor were mainly dead.

Even after she'd felt her abilities flicker and die, Elan's thoughts had still been reflexively attempting to hurl the bullets away, a habit she could break out of. That was how she was saved. She wouldn't have had the time to realise she could hear thoughts once more before a bullet aiming at her head would have struck, but her reflexive deflection worked. Stunned for a second, she then realised what must have happened. Somehow. She rose from her crouch, throwing electricity outwards at the agents while also telekinetically attacking them. Lily had seen the return of their abilities in the renewed colour of emotions, and she was manipulating these to make the men kill themselves and each other.

Even with their abilities returned, the fight was vicious. They'd been highly outnumbered, and surrounded, and it was a long time before they'd wittled through the enemies. When at last they had a respite, Elan looked around shakily. The corridor was lined with blood and corpses. Lily and Lola were standing beside her, Lola already healing away the bloody gash in Lily's left arm, but there was no sign of the other two.

Silently she gazed around, refusing at first to realise that she couldn't see any sign of Krissy and Jerry. There was no sign of their thoughts either. Not anywhere. She knew, deep down, what that most likely meant, but she pushed the thought away into the depths of her mind. There'd already been far too many deaths.

Lily was watching Elan anxiously, seeing the despair creeping in. For some reason, she felt that she shouldn't simply manipulate it away. Instead, she tentatively placed a hand on the older girl's arm.
We should get going.....
Elan shook her head, snapping out of her slight daze.
Yeah....we need to go round first, search for any more survivors....

She took both Lily and Lola's hands, and began running through the building searching. Occasionally they'd come across the broken corpses of some of their allies. When this happened, Lola would try healing, but it wouldn't work even with augmentation - they were too far gone.

Mark had been watching their progress through the CCTV and his precognitive ability, and he eventually worked out what they were doing. He phased through the walls towards them to meet them.

Hearing thoughts approaching, Elan raised a hand full of electricity ready to attack. She dropped it when she recognised Mark.
Mark? Have you found anyone else? she asked in a low whisper.
He shook his head.
No....most of us are dead, he admitted. The 3 women sighed as one.
There's no time to search for more - we have to get out now. I can hear more guards coming.
