Sinead watched her, knowing she was lying. That was obvious, from the tone of her voice and how she was now avoiding eye contact. But she didn't press the issue.

Do you really think so? We have Eoin, he'll look after us. Plus maybe things'll go nicely. Aren't we trying to negotiate first?

Tooreru nodded.

From what I've heard. I don't know how we'll prove we're not dangerous though. I mean.......we are. Or we can be, anyway. Would they just take our word?

The zombie guards set to work disabling the security systems and telling other guards that they had come to take their shift. Now it was safe to go in. The small group of fugitives went inside.

Once inside, the ex company agents set to work freeing the prisoners by typing codes into a computer in a control room to unlock the doors of the fenced compounds. The zombie guards stood guard and the others went down to the compounds to tell the prisoners what to do.

Danielle turns and sees Tooreru

Yeah, I suppose so. We've got to haven't we? We'll probably try not to go in and kill everybody, but show them that we're not terrorists.

Danielle sees Tooreru's auma and goes over to hug her.

I know what you mean.

Eden and Echo worked together to turn the rest of the guards onto their side and so they emptied the whole base of prisoners without a fuss or confrontation. LAWR arrived on time to take everyone to safety, as planned. Everything went well. After LAWR and the prisoners had gone, Eve was left to talk to her estranged parents whilst the others went to release the guards and leave a message for B26.

There was an awkward silence as they stared at her. Eve knew she had to speak.

"Mum..." she said, her mouth dry. "Dad..."

They stood apart from her, the old argument in their minds as well as the new situation. Jenny and Anthony didn't know what to say either.

"Why were we kidnapped?" George asked.

"Those men work for the government. The government found out about people with superhuman abilities like me and they're trying to lock us up. They found out in runs in families sometimes and that's why they took you all." Eve explained quietly.

"What are you?" Mabel whispered.

"Your daughter." said Eve, beginning to cry. "Please forgive me."

Tooreru returned to their rooms, and repeated what she'd learned from Danielle to the others.

So a.....negotiation? Do you really think that'd work?

It might......it's better than just attacking anyway. This way, we'll have evidence to back us when we say we're not a threat. Unlike them....

So we can go home soon?

Sinead's face was nearly glowing with joy. Tooreru nodded.

Yeah, home.

She swallowed the lump which had unexpectedly formed in her throat.

"You had a child out of wedlock, and you were under-age!" George said, his voice rising full of the old argument again, the reason why they never talked about her any more.

"Dad, leave her alone. Can't you see she's upset?" cried Jenny.

"Haven't we been through enough already? She doesn't deserve this. " Anthony said.

(Awww poor Eve. They disowned her over that?)

Laurel? You OK?

She shook a little at Eoin's voice. She turned. She forced a smile, and replied.

Yeah, just being sentimental. The thought of being able to go back.....

He hugged her.

Sorry, I didn't consider, this must be so much harder for you than for the rest of us.....at least we're home even if we have to be apart from the rest of our families.

The others returned.

"Eve, we have to go. The guards will be waking up soon and there'll be an investigation." Paulette told her. Eve nodded, quietly wiping away her tears and taking control of the situation.

"Alright, everyone hold hands. Manuel, are you ready? Paulette, give Manuel a boost."

They did as she said and Paulette stood next to Manuel. Her hand glowed golden as she supercharged him, allowing him to teleport all of them back at once.

A moment later, they were back at the hideout.
