I think Nam was back outside in the street near her family's manor, and the attack hadn't started yet. No one had any idea it would.

Sebastian stood outside Oherin's gates, behind him stood a moderately sized army, spellcasters intact.
First things first, let's bring down the magical shield. He looked to Manel, his magic consultant, How is the best way to do that?
The only way to do it is to put so much force on it that the person or people who conjured it die with trying to within the pressure against it.
Sebastian turned to his generals, Fren ready the catapults. Manel ready the spellcaters to cast spells powerful enough to destroy that shiled.

(It's in 9 tiers with the towers and a hall at the centre. It's located on a mountainside with the mountain to one side and a ravine to the other, with a plateau far below. It's white and the stone glows. It's millennia old and pretty much also a fortress. I imagine it a bit like Minas Tirith from LOTR?)

The catapults and trebuchats tanged and threw hundreds of pounds of stone towards Oherin. Spellcasters sent spell after spell hurtling towards Oherin, spells powerful enough that Sebastian was sure it would destroy the mountain had it not been enchanted. Despite their best efforts , the attacks seemed to reach a certain distance they fail and disappear. Sebastian swore in annoyance, his father hadn't told him it would be this hard.
