Alicia laughed at that, grinning. Seeing her own relief relieved me myself, to be honest. Though I'd been trying to hide it, I had been worried. But we would find some solution to this, I was certain.

The phone call to Daphne was odd and brief - I begged her not to ask any questions, instructing her to bring her team to the location Kaylee had given me. I could read her wanting to go over and see him, but something was stopping her. I wondered what it was, as I hung up the phone She's never going to trust me again, I informed Kaylee, who shrugged and left without another word.

I can speak with her later, alone, I added, seeing Peter about to ask why I didn't call now. But I doubted that I'd be able to hold my composure, and my secrets, with him present. I didn't really know why I felt it was so essential to still hide this. It'd become more than just not knowing where to start, how to explain.
