World 12: Spies - RP Thread

Tyler drove at his usual speed there, and parked a short distance from Neil's home since the rest of the street looked packed. He headed towards the doorway, rang the bell and waited.

Neil was right about to go into the shower when the door bell rang and he had to keep the same clothes on. So, with an apron around his neck, spices in his hair and sauce on his clothes he headed towards the door. At least the spices made him smell of barbeque instead of sweat from the tough workday. Flushing, Neil opened the door and was struck by a dressed-up Tyler, which made his dressing look pretty insufficent.

Hey, he greeted. I'd have brought a drink but then I realised that I don't know what you like.

Neil was just about to blabber a lot of excuses when Tyler expressed his concern of not bringing a drink, which made him laugh instead. "I look like a marinated, panicked piece of meat and you comment on not bringing a drink?"

"Sauced was a nice way of putting it. Well, I have both food and plenty of different drinks, so we should be fine. Welcome inside my humble apartment." Neil said and did an exaggerated gesture to show that Tyler should come inside.

Thanks, he laughed, looking around as he entered. Nice place.

(What's it like? )

The apartment has three rooms and is pretty big. Straight forward after one enters the apartment is the living room which is connected to the modern decorated kitchen. The kitchen is easy to move around in but right now it looks like it is the aftermath of an explosion. The living room has a dining table which is set beautifully and some steps away is a black, leather sofa that is faced to wall where a flat screen is hanging. On both sides of the flat screen are a lot of shelves filled with books, movies and pictures of friends and family. As far as one can see on the right after entering the apartment is a door that is half open where Tyler can see a glimpse of a big bed that seems to have a silver sheet and black

“Thanks.” Neil said, smiling at the compliment. It had taken a while to get it like he wanted. “Take a seat.” Neil said and nervously got to the kitchen, opened the oven and took out the food. It looked amazing but Neil had no idea what Tyler ate or what he loved. What if he were allergic and would get an reaction like they show in romantic comedies. Not that this was a romantic comedy, this was real life, but still… Neil’s thoughts continued in this pattern as he took the food to the table with a bottle of wine.

“I don’t know if you like wine, otherwise I have some other drinks that I can offer.” Neil continued blabbering about some casual things and didn’t sit down. Instead he continued getting things from the kitchen and it was obvious that he was nervous. Everything has to be perfect.

Wine'll be great, he replied. After a moment, he couldn't fight off a smirk any longer. What happened here? Did you try to blow up the kitchen?

Neil stopped for a second, actually catching hiss breath and chuckled slightly. "Well, what can I say. I am a messy cook." Neil served the food and sat down across Tyler. and took a breather. "I really need to relax, don't I?" Neil said, half retorical, half for real.

"You. You are getting me worked up. But don't worry, it is a good thing." Neil said, smiling. "Shall we eat?" Neil proposed, gesturing at the food. And then he opened the bottle of wine and poured a glass to both Tyler and himself.

Tyler began tucking in. The food was delicious.

(I wanted to have him make a toast "to us" but then decided it'd be too cheesy for him )

(Okay, I can have Neil do it, just because it is awesome.

Neil started eating and drinking and asked som general stuff. When both Neil and Tyler had finished their second glass of wine and Neil was feeling a little tipsy from the alcohol, he refilled both glasses and then raised his for a toast.

"To us." Neil said, just to add. "And to our it whatever that it, is."

Neil laughed.

"Better to play it safe just in case."

(play it safe?)

(Like, not overreaching for what to call the relationship. But I think he more said it because last week they called what they had an "it" I just didn't know how he would say it. )

Soon, they had finisihed the dinner and Neil continued with new questions.

"Have you always lived here or did you move here?"

(Think they've talked about that before, but oh well  )

D.C. my entire life, he nodded. What about you? You were from Maryland, right?

The next day, all members of Fallon Industries but Drew were waiting, tense, in their base for the ambush. Brea kept glancing at her watch every few minutes. There was plenty of time, she knew that, but she kept glancing.


What's keeping him? Keagan muttered.


He'll come, she whispered in response. She did believe that. She had to believe that.

(Yeah, I wondered if they had or not, but as you said, oh well.  )

"Yeah, that's right. Okay, favorite sport? I know that you are not that into the whole sport thing, but if you had to choose." Neil ask with a wide smile on his face that reappears every time he tries to surpress it a little. I must look like a fool.

I don't think I could actually choose, he smiled. Growing up I was practically forced to support the Redskins and the Nationals.

(Yes, I actually researched D.C.'s American football and baseball teams  )
