They continued their conversation until Tyler stopped in front of Neil's place.
"I guess I see you tomorrow then?" Neil asked, without questioning the answer, since it was pretty obvious. But it was one of those questions that you ask anyway. Why is that?

Neil felt a surge of energy with the kiss. When their lips parted he responded with giving Tyler another quick, small kiss before jumping out of the car.

When he did that, Tyler had to resist the temptation to pull him closer, kiss him more deeply, keep on kissing him forever. He had to force himself to let go.

Neil too was tempted to jump back in to the car but knew that he would never get inside if he did. So instead he waved while slowly backing away to his door, keeping his eyes on Tyler as long as possible. To absorb the sight of him and create mental pictures to look through when he is bored. Neil really like Tyler's work clothes. Tyler really fitted in suits.

Neil closed the door behind him and then got in the shower. After he made some simple food for once and sat down in front of the tv. It was some bad cop shows on and then one or two dramas, a boring comedy and some reality shows. Neil quickly got bored and wished there was something better to do.

Tyler sped his way back to his own apartment. He parked outside the building and let himself in. He took the elevator upstairs. Unlocking the door, he threw his jacket over the back of one seat, and sat down in another.

After a boring evening he decided to go to bed early, letting his thoughts wander before falling in to a deep sleep. He dreamt about long coffee orders and Tyler.

He poured himself a drink, then noticed that the red light of his answer phone was blinking. He checked it. It was a catch-up message from his youngest brother, Marcus. He mentally ran through his most up to date family cover story before calling Marcus back.

Neil continued sleeping.
George got home from work, exhausted. His wife was laying down on the sofa with a glass of orange juice with salt in her hand and a bowl of figs on her pregnant belly. She had started with it two weeks ago and she couldn't get enough. George sat down next to her in the couch. She was watching one of those cop shows. When the silence continued and Marias eyes gazed tiredly on the screen, George realized that he could try harder to make Maria feel loved. They hadn't talked about anything except the pregnancy and had random fights about nothing. George grabbed Marias free hand and rubbed it gently clockwise, which they did when they snuggled.
"Babe. What do you say about going out tomorrow. On a date. A real one. Maybe at that place we like. We haven't been there for ages."
After a bit of convincing, Maria agreed and George felt happy. Satisfied. And he finally relaxed after the work day, leaving all worries at the HQ where they belonged.

He phoned Marcus back, and they chatted idly for a while. Marcus admitted that he was considering proposing to Maria, his girlfriend of 4 years. Tyler offered premature congratulations.

What's he like? Marcus asked. Tyler hesitated. It wasn't that he wasn't sure how to describe Neil. He'd just thought of how this conversation pathway might develop. Eventually his family - or his brothers, anyway: their parents hadn't yet learned that he dated men too - would want to meet his boyfriend. And that'd lead to lies: how they met, what their shared work was, what they had in common. He'd long ago come to the conclusion that sharing little was the best cover story for his family.
