Tannith got up gingerly. She felt shaken and a little weak. She glanced over at Lola, and saw her breathing, with her eyes open and with sight. She grinned, sighing with relief. It worked!

She took the chance to tighten the bloodwhips, at the same time, half-leaping back into the darkness. This way, she thought, they would hurt the spiritual more than the physical. Hurt Death instead of Lola's body.
