Re: World 1 - Redemption And Revenge
Several days had passed by now, and Eoin knew that he should really bring Aito home from where he'd been staying with his mother. He couldn't face it, though. He'd tried to, gotten as far as the house door, then frozen. He couldn't really explain how it was so hard: the reminder, the potential questions, another's grief.... he just couldn't do it.

Aislinn had even phoned once, questioning that. He'd just let it go straight to voicemail, not answering. He couldn't explain it.... and it haunted him. What kind of father was he, abandoning his son like this, and when the boy would most need him, too? He was just like his own.

Megan knew that she would have to flee soon. She regretted this as she had come to enjoy living on the farm. She was a valued worker treated fairly had a roof over her head and easy access to the aura's of animals. After she left she would have to go back to wandering and running.

He knew that, but despite how much he was beginning to hate and even loathe himself for it, he couldn't let go. He'd physically frozen when he'd tried. It was just too much for him. He was tempted to try fleeing, if he'd believed there was anywhere he could go to where he wouldn't be reminded. But he knew that was impossible, because the memories weren't in any particular place or on a person, they were in his head.

The days wore on, and eventually he received a phone call from Keitaro, telling him where and when the funeral would be. The boy hollowly admitted to him that it was only now that he was finally able to let go and stop trying to revive her all the time.

I'll let everyone else know, he replied hollowly, before saying goodbye to his brother in law, and hanging up. His hands felt numb as he dialled the number for Sean and Sinead's home, and when he spoke he sounded as if he'd aged more than fifty years.
Hello.... Sinead? I'm just calling to say..... I heard from Keitaro, earlier. Roo... her funeral's in 3 days he explained, stumbling over her name.

I'm so sorry! she exclaimed. Yeah, we'll be there, Sean and me.... definitely..... how are you....?
Fine, he answered dully, and even though it was obviously a lie, she didn't question further.

He said goodbye soon after that, and hung up, unable to face any more questions or concern. He was just clinging to the hope that things would somehow seem better, after the funeral. They had to, didn't they? That was the entire purpose... to give people a chance to get closure.

Re: World 1 - Redemption And Revenge
Megan approached the cows. Their aura's were beautiful, calling to her. She had to struggle to control herself, knowing that if she moved to quickly she might scare the cows. She gently grasped one of the cows it stirred slightly but otherwise remained in place. Feeling its aura rushing into her was heavenly and yet at the same time somewhat unsatisfying. The feeling not as intense as the aura's of a human or evolved human. Part of her longed to feel that sensation again, would sell her soul to be able to feel it forever. But another part of her was horrified to have such a craving. As she finished consuming the animals aura she came back to herself. Stepping away from the animals shriveled remains she made her way home struggling slightly to walk in a straight line. She knew she couldn't stay here for much longer and she was terrified about what she would have to do once she left, what she might not be able to stop herself from doing. But she was glad she could remain for just a little longer.

Re: World 1 - Redemption And Revenge
He tried to distract himself, afterwards, but couldn't seem to settle on anything. The memories were beginning to plague him again. Finally, he realised the losing battle he was fighting, and began to make his arrangements, booking a flight and explaining to the company how he'd be out of the country for the week. It wouldn't matter that he'd be arriving days too early. It wasn't like remaining here wasn't a reminder.
